What it means
F30003 is generated when the power unit detects an undervoltage condition in the DC link. Which threshold applies depends on the unit: on the chassis-format converters the monitoring threshold for the DC link undervoltage is indicated in r0296, while on G120 and G120XA the threshold is determined by a calculation for which the manual refers to the line supply voltage setting p0210. The G115D and G120C manuals list the same code in their fault tables under the short title “DC-link voltage undervoltage”. For the units with a line infeed, the manuals additionally note that the ready signal for the infeed (r0863) must be interconnected to the associated drive inputs (p0864).
Why it appears
- The line supply has failed.
- The line supply voltage is below the permissible value.
- The line supply infeed has failed or has been interrupted (this cause is listed for G130, G150, S120 and S150).
- A line phase has been interrupted.
What to check
- Check the line supply voltage.
- On G130, G150, S120 and S150: check the line supply infeed and observe the fault messages relating to it, if there are any.
- Check the line supply phases.
- Check the line supply voltage setting (p0210).
- Booksize units: check the setting of p0278.
Parameters the manual names
- p0210 (Drive unit line supply voltage) — check that this setting matches the actual line supply; on G120 and G120XA the undervoltage threshold is calculated from it.
- r0296 — indicates the monitoring threshold for the DC link undervoltage on the chassis-format units.
- p0278 (DC link voltage undervoltage threshold reduction) — on booksize units, check this setting when F30003 occurs.
- p0864 — signal input to which the ready signal of the infeed (r0863) must be interconnected on the units with a line infeed.
Acknowledging and restarting
The power unit switches off and the motor coasts down (OFF2). The fault must be acknowledged immediately: remove the cause and restore the line supply first, acknowledge the fault, and the drive can then be started again.
What differs between the drive families

Questions technicians ask
What does fault F30003 in a SINAMICS drive mean?
The power unit has detected an undervoltage condition in the DC link — the line supply has failed, dropped below the permissible value, or a line phase has been interrupted.
How do I fix fault F30003?
Check the line supply voltage and the line supply phases, and verify the line supply voltage setting in p0210; on booksize units also check p0278. Once the supply is back, acknowledge the fault immediately.
Which threshold triggers F30003?
On the chassis-format units the monitoring threshold is indicated in r0296. On G120 and G120XA the threshold follows from a calculation that the manual bases on p0210.
Why does the drive coast down when F30003 appears?
The fault switches the power unit off with a coast down, so the motor is not actively braked. The fault has to be acknowledged immediately before the drive can run again.
