What it means
F30001 is raised when the power unit detects an overcurrent condition. The manuals for the G115D, G120, G120C, G120XA, G130, G150, S120 and S150 describe it essentially identically. Some causes carry the prefix infeed:
in the manual — these concern the line-side infeed of the chassis and cabinet units rather than the motor-side power unit. For a converter configured as a parallel switching device (r0108.15 = 1) the manual adds causes and checks of its own.
Why it appears
- The closed-loop control is parameterized incorrectly.
- The motor has a short-circuit or a fault to ground (frame).
- In U/f operation the up ramp is set too low.
- In U/f operation the rated current of the motor is significantly greater than that of the Motor Module (the G120-family manuals word this as the rated current of the motor being much greater than that of the power unit).
- Infeed: high discharge and post-charging currents following a dip or interruption of the line supply voltage.
- Infeed: high post-charging currents when the drive is overloaded while motoring and the DC link voltage dips.
- Infeed: short-circuit currents at switch-on because the line commutating reactor (line reactor) is missing.
- The power cables are not correctly connected.
- The power cables exceed the maximum permissible length.
- The power unit is defective.
- A line phase is interrupted.
- For a parallel switching device (r0108.15 = 1) the manual adds two causes: a power unit has tripped (switched off) because of a ground fault, or the closed-loop circulating current control is either too slow or has been set too fast.
What to check
- Check the motor data; if required, repeat the commissioning.
- Check the motor circuit configuration (star/delta).
- In U/f operation, increase the up ramp (acceleration ramp).
- In U/f operation, check the assignment of the rated currents of the motor and the Motor Module (power unit on the G120 family).
- Check the line supply quality.
- Reduce the motor load.
- Check the correct connection of the line filter and the line commutating reactor (called the line reactor in the G120 and G120XA manuals).
- Check the power cable connections.
- Check the power cables for a short-circuit or ground fault.
- Check that the power cables do not exceed the maximum permissible length.
- Check the line supply phases.
- If these checks do not clear the fault, replace the power unit — the short tables for the G120C and G115D explicitly put this step under «if this doesn't help».
- On a parallel switching device (r0108.15 = 1), additionally check the ground fault monitoring thresholds (p0287) and the setting of the closed-loop circulating current control (p7036, p7037).
Reading the message value
- The drive writes the fault cause to r0949; the manual says to interpret the value bitwise binary.
- Bit 0: Phase U.
- Bit 1: Phase V.
- Bit 2: Phase W.
- Bit 3: Overcurrent in the DC link.
Fault value = 0 means that the phase with overcurrent is not recognized (e.g. for blocksize device).
Parameters the manual names
- r0949 (fault value): read it after the trip — the set bits name the affected phase or the DC link overcurrent.
- r0108 (drive objects function module): bit 15 = 1 identifies the converter as a parallel switching device, for which the manual lists the extra causes and checks.
- p0287 (ground fault monitoring shutdown threshold): check this threshold when, on a parallel switching device, a power unit has tripped due to a ground fault.
- p7036 (circulating current control proportional gain): check its setting when a parallel switching device raises F30001.
- p7037 (circulating current control integral time): check it together with p7036 for the same case.
Acknowledging and restarting
F30001 trips the drive immediately and the motor coasts down; the drive does not start again until the fault has been acknowledged. Clear the cause first, acknowledge the fault on the operator panel or in the commissioning tool, then restart the drive. Beyond acknowledging, the manuals describe no further reset steps for this code.
