F01039 — ACX: Writing to the parameter back-up file was unsuccessful

F01039 (ACX: Writing to the parameter back-up file was unsuccessful) is raised by the Control Unit (CU) when writing to at least one parameter back-up file PSxxxyyy.*** in the non-volatile memory is unsuccessful. The parameter save therefore failed for at least one file; which file and which save command failed is recorded in the fault value (see below). The fault forces no automatic OFF, so the converter keeps running while the message is active. Depending on the drive's configuration, the same condition can also be output as alarm A01039, which triggers no reaction and needs no acknowledgement. The manuals for G120, G120XA, G130, G150, S120 and S150 describe cause and remedy identically; only the fault-value decoding differs in the details noted below.

• A parameter back-up file PSxxxyyy.*** in the directory /USER/SINAMICS/DATA/ carries the “read only” file attribute and therefore cannot be overwritten.
• There is not sufficient free memory space available in the non-volatile memory.
• The non-volatile memory is defective and cannot be written to.

1. Check the file attribute of the files PSxxxyyy.***, CAxxxyyy.*** and CCxxxyyy.*** and, if required, change it from “read only” to “writeable”.
2. Check the free memory space in the non-volatile memory — approximately 80 kbyte of free memory space is required for every drive object in the system.
3. If writing remains unsuccessful, replace the memory card or the Control Unit.

The drive stores the fault value in r0949; interpret it hexadecimal with the structure dcba hex:

• a = yyy in the file names PSxxxyyy.*** identifies the file that could not be written:
  • 000 — consistency back-up file
  • 001 ... 062 — drive object number
  • 070 — FEPROM.BIN (printed for S120, S150, G130 and G150)
  • 080 — DEL4BOOT.TXT (printed for S120, S150, G130 and G150)
  • 099 — PROFIBUS parameter back-up file
• b = xxx in the file names PSxxxyyy.*** identifies the command with which the data save was started; the manuals differ here:
  • S120, S150, G130 and G150: 000 — data save started with p0977 = 1 or p0971 = 1; 010 — with p0977 = 10; 011 — with p0977 = 11; 012 — with p0977 = 12.
  • G120 and G120XA: 000 — data save started with p0971 = 1; 010 — with p0971 = 10; 011 — with p0971 = 11; 012 — with p0971 = 12.
• d, c — only for internal Siemens troubleshooting.

• r0949 — displays the fault value of this message; read it here and interpret it hexadecimal as above to identify the failed file and the save command that started the write.
• p0977 (“Save all parameters”) — on S120, S150, G130 and G150 the fault value shows whether the failed data save was started with p0977 = 1, 10, 11 or 12.
• p0971 (“Save drive object parameters”) — the save command recorded in the fault value on every system: p0971 = 1 together with p0977 on S120, S150, G130 and G150, and p0971 = 1, 10, 11 or 12 on G120 and G120XA.

Because the fault forces no automatic OFF, no restart of the converter is needed on account of the message itself. Acknowledge the fault immediately once one of the causes above has been corrected; no further restart sequence is described for this message. When the drive's configuration outputs the condition as alarm A01039 instead, no acknowledgement is required.
