F01036ACX: Parameter back-up file missing

What it means

ACX: Parameter back-up file missing. The Control Unit (CU) raises this message when, during the download of the device parameterization, the parameter back-up file PSxxxyyy.ACX that belongs to a drive object cannot be found. Depending on the drive configuration, the same condition can also be signalled as an alarm. The message value carries the fault value, which the drive also stores in r0949; it identifies which of the PSxxxyyy.ACX files is affected. No automatic OFF command is executed, and the message is acknowledged immediately.

Why it appears

  • During the download of the device parameterization, the parameter back-up file PSxxxyyy.ACX associated with a drive object cannot be found on the Control Unit.

What to check

  1. Read the fault value in r0949 (interpret hexadecimal) to identify which PSxxxyyy.ACX file is missing — see the decoding under Fault value.
  2. If you have saved your project data using the commissioning tool, carry out a new download for your project.
  3. Then save the parameters with the function Copy RAM to ROM or with p0977 = 1 (S120, S150, G130, G150) or p0971 = 1 (G120, G120XA); the parameter files are again written completely into the non-volatile memory.
  4. If the project data have not been backed up, a new first commissioning is required.

Reading the message value

  • The drive stores the fault value in r0949; interpret the value hexadecimal.
  • Byte 1: yyy in the file name PSxxxyyy.ACX
  • yyy = 000 → consistency back-up file
  • yyy = 001 … 062 → drive object number
  • yyy = 099 → PROFIBUS parameter back-up file
  • Bytes 2, 3, 4: only for internal Siemens troubleshooting

Parameters the manual names

  • r0949 — fault value: read it hexadecimal to see which yyy of the PSxxxyyy.ACX file name is affected.
  • p0977 — save all parameters: set p0977 = 1 to write the parameter files completely into the non-volatile memory (remedy on the S120, S150, G130 and G150).
  • p0971 — save parameters: set p0971 = 1 for the same save on the G120 and G120XA.

Acknowledging and restarting

The message is acknowledged immediately. Carry out the remedy first — a new download of the project and the parameter save with Copy RAM to ROM or with p0977 = 1 / p0971 = 1 — so that the parameter files are again written completely into the non-volatile memory. If the project data were not backed up, a new first commissioning is required.

Questions technicians ask

What does fault F01036 mean on a SINAMICS drive?

During the download of the device parameterization, the Control Unit could not find the parameter back-up file PSxxxyyy.ACX that belongs to a drive object.

How do I fix F01036?

If you have saved your project data with the commissioning tool, carry out a new download of the project and then save with "Copy RAM to ROM" or with p0977 = 1 (S120, S150, G130, G150) or p0971 = 1 (G120, G120XA). If the project data were never backed up, a new first commissioning is required.

What is the fault value of F01036 telling me?

Read r0949 hexadecimal: byte 1 contains the yyy of the file name PSxxxyyy.ACX — 000 means the consistency back-up file, 001 to 062 is the drive object number, and 099 is the PROFIBUS parameter back-up file. Bytes 2, 3 and 4 are only for internal Siemens troubleshooting.

Does F01036 stop the drive?

No automatic OFF command is executed, so the drive keeps its operating state; the message is acknowledged immediately once the parameter save has been carried out.
