A01669 — SI Motion: Unfavorable combination of motor and power unit

A01669 is the SI Motion message for an unfavorable combination of motor and power unit: the combination in use is not suitable for running the safe motion monitoring functions without an encoder. The concrete criterion is the current ratio — the ratio of the power unit rated current (r0207[0]) to the rated motor current (p0305) is greater than 5. Depending on how the drive is configured, the same condition can also be output as a fault (F) or with no reaction (N). The manuals describe the code with the same cause and remedy for every family on this page, so the following applies to all of them.

• The motor and power unit combination in use is not suitable for using the safe motion monitoring functions without an encoder.
• The ratio of the power unit rated current (r0207[0]) to the rated motor current (p0305) is greater than 5.
• The drive notes that if this alarm is not observed, message C01711 or C30711 — with the value 1041 ... 1044 — can occur sporadically.

1. Read the alarm value r2124 as a decimal number: it names the motor data set that caused the message.
2. For that motor data set, compare the power unit rated current (r0207[0]) with the rated motor current (p0305) — the ratio is greater than 5, which is what makes the combination unsuitable for the safe motion monitoring functions without an encoder.
3. Use a suitable power unit with a lower power rating or a motor with a higher power rating.

• r2124 (interpret the value as decimal): number of the motor data set, which caused the fault.

• r0207[0] — power unit rated current; together with p0305 it forms the ratio that decides whether the motor/power unit combination is suitable.
• p0305 — rated motor current; check this value for the motor data set that r2124 names.
• r2124 — alarm value; read it as a decimal number to identify the motor data set which caused the message.

In the alarm form the drive executes no stop and nothing has to be acknowledged; the message keeps coming back until a suitable combination of motor and power unit is in use. In the fault form the message is acknowledged immediately — for example by switching POWER ON — after which the drive can be restarted; if a stop reaction (OFF1, OFF2 or OFF3) is set for the fault form, the drive is restarted after that stop and the acknowledgement.
