What it means

A01696 comes from the Safety Integrated motion monitoring (SI Motion). The drive raises it when the forced checking procedure — the test stop for the safe motion monitoring functions — is already selected at the moment the drive boots. Such a selection at boot is not permissible, and the consequence is that the forced check is only carried out again once the test stop has first been deselected and then selected again. The message does not result in a safety stop response. Depending on how the drive is configured, the same condition can also be issued as a fault instead of the alarm.
