- Compare the current temperature r4105[9] with the set threshold p4102[18] and check the sensor type in p4100[9]. With "PTC thermistor" or "Bimetallic NC contact" (p4100[9] = 1, 4), read the sensor resistance r4101[9]: a value above 1650 ohms yields 250 °C, a value of 1650 ohms or below yields -50 °C.
- Allow the temperature sensor to cool down until the measured temperature is below p4102[18] minus the hysteresis p4118[9]; the alarm then goes away by itself.

If the drive is configured to issue this condition as a fault (F), the manual specifies acknowledgement "IMMEDIATELY (POWER ON)"; issued with no reaction (N), it requires no acknowledgement either.
