A35410TM: Temperature alarm threshold channel 4 exceeded

What it means

A35410 is the Terminal Module temperature alarm for channel 4: the temperature (r4105[4]) measured using the temperature sensing of the Terminal Module 150 (TM150) has exceeded the threshold value set in p4102[8] to initiate this alarm. Depending on how the drive is configured, the same condition can also be issued as a fault (F) or as a message without any reaction (N).

Why it appears

  • The temperature measured via the temperature sensing of the TM150, r4105[4], has risen above the alarm threshold p4102[8].

What to check

  1. Allow the temperature sensor to cool down to below p4102[8] minus the hysteresis in p4118[4].

Reading the message value

  • The alarm value (r2124, interpret decimal) contains the temperature actual value at the time the alarm was initiated, in 0.1 °C.
  • For sensor type "PTC thermistor" and "Bimetallic NC contact" (p4100[4] = 1, 4), the drive derives the temperature r4105[4] from the sensor resistance r4101[4]: if r4101[4] is greater than 1650 ohms, the temperature r4105[4] = 250 °C; if r4101[4] is 1650 ohms or less, the temperature r4105[4] = -50 °C.

Parameters the manual names

  • r4105 (Suppl_temp ActV): the temperature actual value — here, the channel 4 temperature measured by the TM150 that has exceeded the alarm threshold.
  • p4102 (fault threshold/alarm thresh., index [8]): the alarm threshold for this channel; the alarm initiates above it, and the sensor must cool back below it minus the hysteresis.
  • p4100 (Sup_temp sens type, index [4]): the configured sensor type of the channel; 1 is a PTC thermistor, 4 a bimetallic NC contact.
  • r4101 (TM120 R_sensor): the resistance of the connected sensor; for sensor types 1 and 4 it decides whether r4105[4] reads 250 °C or -50 °C.
  • p4118 (TM150 thr hyst, index [4]): the hysteresis of the alarm threshold; the sensor must cool to below p4102[8] - p4118[4] before the alarm clears.
  • r2124 (alarm value): read it as a decimal number to see the temperature actual value at the moment the alarm was initiated, in 0.1 °C.

Acknowledging and restarting

The alarm needs no acknowledgement: once the temperature sensor has cooled to below p4102[8] - p4118[4], it clears by itself. If the drive is configured to output the same condition as a fault (F), it is acknowledged immediately via POWER ON.

Questions technicians ask

What does SINAMICS alarm A35410 mean?

The temperature measured on channel 4 of the Terminal Module 150 (TM150) temperature sensing, r4105[4], has exceeded the alarm threshold p4102[8]. The alarm value r2124 shows the temperature that was present when the alarm was initiated.

How do I clear alarm A35410?

No acknowledgement is required: let the temperature sensor cool down to below p4102[8] minus the hysteresis p4118[4], and the alarm clears itself. If the condition is output as a fault (F), it is acknowledged immediately via POWER ON.

Why does A35410 show 250 °C or -50 °C?

For the sensor types PTC thermistor and bimetallic NC contact (p4100[4] = 1, 4), the drive derives the temperature from the sensor resistance r4101[4]: more than 1650 ohms gives 250 °C, 1650 ohms or less gives -50 °C.

Which parameters belong to alarm A35410?

p4102[8] holds the alarm threshold and p4118[4] the hysteresis, r4105[4] is the measured temperature, r4101[4] the sensor resistance, and r2124 the alarm value with the temperature at initiation.
