A35232TM41: Zero mark no longer synchronous POWER ON required

What it means

Alarm A35232 reports that the zero mark of a Terminal Module 41 (TM41) can no longer be output in synchronism with the zero mark of the encoder interconnected at p4420. The drive raises it when, during parameterization or operation of the TM41, an operating state is reached for which a POWER ON is required. Which change led to this state depends on the encoder emulation operating mode selected in p4400.

Why it appears

  • With p4400 = 1 (SINAMICS operating mode): a state requiring a POWER ON was reached — by changing the encoder pulse number (p0408), by changing the fine resolution (p0418), or by withdrawing the DRIVE-CLiQ cable without first deactivating the TM41 via p0105.
  • With p4400 = 0 (SIMOTION operating mode): the previously set zero mark position (p4426) no longer matches the encoder position (r0479) because the pulse number (p0408) was changed.

What to check

  1. Establish whether the drive evaluates the TM41 zero mark at all. If only the incremental position is used, it can continue to be taken from output X520 of the TM41 independently of the zero mark — nothing else is needed for that use.
  2. If the TM41 zero mark is evaluated, carry out a POWER ON. Only afterwards is the zero mark synchronous again with the encoder interconnected at p4420.

Parameters the manual names

  • p4400 — selects the TM41 encoder emulation operating mode: 1 is the SINAMICS mode, 0 the SIMOTION mode; it decides which of the two causes applies here.
  • p0408 — the rotary encoder pulse number; changing it triggers this alarm in either operating mode.
  • p0418 — the fine resolution in bits; changing it while the TM41 runs is one of the triggers in SINAMICS mode.
  • p0105 — used to deactivate the TM41; the DRIVE-CLiQ cable must not be withdrawn before this is done, otherwise the alarm follows.
  • p4420 — the encoder interconnected here is the one whose zero mark the TM41 can no longer output synchronously.
  • p4426 — holds the pulses for the TM41 zero mark (ZM); in SIMOTION mode this set position no longer matches the actual encoder position.
  • r0479 — the diagnostics encoder position actual value; in SIMOTION mode it is this value that no longer matches p4426 after the pulse number changed.

Acknowledging and restarting

The manual names a POWER ON as the required measure whenever the TM41 zero mark is evaluated; only after it does the zero mark return to synchronism with the encoder at p4420. If the zero mark is not evaluated, the incremental position at output X520 remains usable and the drive can keep running on it without the POWER ON.
