What it means

A35414 reports that the temperature measured through the temperature sensing of the Terminal Module 150 (TM150) — the value in r4105[8] — has exceeded the alarm threshold stored in p4102[16]. The message concerns channel 8 of the Terminal Module's temperature sensing. Why it appears

  • The temperature (r4105[8]) measured using the temperature sensing of the Terminal Module 150 (TM150) has exceeded the threshold value that initiates this alarm (p4102[16]).
  • For sensor type "PTC thermistor" and "Bimetallic NC contact" (p4100[8] = 1, 4), the drive derives the temperature straight from the sensor resistance: if r4101[8] > 1650 ohms it reports r4105[8] = 250 °C, and if r4101[8] ≤ 1650 ohms it reports r4105[8] = -50 °C. With these sensor types the alarm therefore follows from which side of 1650 ohms the measured resistance lies.

What to check

  1. Read the alarm value r2124 (interpret the number as a decimal): it holds the temperature actual value at the moment the alarm was initiated.
  2. If p4100[8] = 1 or 4 (sensor type "PTC thermistor" or "Bimetallic NC contact"), read the sensor resistance r4101[8]: above 1650 ohms the drive reports 250 °C, at 1650 ohms or below it reports -50 °C.
  3. Let the sensor cool until the measured temperature is below the alarm threshold minus the hysteresis; the drive then withdraws the message by itself.

  • The alarm value r2124 holds the temperature actual value at the time the alarm was initiated; interpret the value as a decimal number in units of 0.1 °C.

Acknowledging and restarting

The manual's remedy is: Allow the temperature sensor to cool down to below p4102[16] - hysteresis (p4118[8]). Once the measured temperature is below this value, the alarm clears by itself and no acknowledgement is needed. If the drive is configured to output the same condition as a fault instead, the acknowledgement is IMMEDIATELY (POWER ON), i.e. the drive must be powered up again before it can be restarted.
