A07587 — Encoder 1: Position actual value preprocessing does not have a valid encoder

The position actual value preprocessing for Encoder 1 has been assigned an encoder data set that does not actually describe an encoder. The data set either contains no encoder data at all — the encoder type selection p0400 is still 0 — or the data it holds is invalid; the manual gives p0408 = 0, a rotary encoder pulse number of 0, as an example. Both manuals describe the alarm for Encoder 1 identically.

• An encoder data set has been assigned to the position actual value preprocessing, but this data set does not contain any encoder data — the encoder type selection p0400 is 0.
• The assigned encoder data set contains invalid data; the manual names p0408 = 0 (rotary encoder pulse number 0) as an example.

1. Check the drive data sets and the encoder data sets — this is the remedy the manuals give.
2. Use p0187 to see which encoder data set is assigned to Encoder 1; the remedy also lists the data set numbers of Encoder 2 and Encoder 3 (p0188, p0189) among the data sets to check.
3. Make sure the assigned data set really contains encoder data: p0400 must not be 0, and values such as the rotary encoder pulse number p0408 must not be 0.
4. In the S120/S150 manual the remedy additionally refers to p2502 (LR encoder assignment) when checking the encoder assignment.

• p0187 — Encoder 1 encoder data set number: shows which EDS is assigned to Encoder 1, i.e. the data set this alarm complains about.
• p0400 — encoder type selection: p0400 = 0 in the assigned data set means the set holds no encoder data and triggers the alarm.
• p0408 — rotary encoder pulse number: named by the manual as an example of invalid data; p0408 = 0 in the assigned data set raises the alarm.
• p0188 — Encoder 2 encoder data set number, listed by the remedy among the encoder data sets to check.
• p0189 — Encoder 3 encoder data set number, likewise part of the remedy's references.
• p2502 — LR encoder assignment, referenced in the S120/S150 remedy for this alarm.

Nothing needs to be acknowledged: the manuals specify no acknowledgement and no drive reaction for this alarm, so there is no reset step on the operator panel. The alarm is resolved where it arises — in the encoder data set assigned to Encoder 1 (selected with p0187), which must contain an encoder type (p0400 not 0) and valid data such as a rotary encoder pulse number (p0408 not 0).
