A07586Encoder 3: Position setting value activated

What it means

A07586 reports that the position setting function of Encoder 3 is active. While the binector input p2514 carries a 1 signal, the drive sets the position actual value of Encoder 3 to the value it receives at the connector input p2515. While the setting is in force, a possible system deviation cannot be corrected. The alarm announces this active state; the manuals prescribe no remedial action for it.

Why it appears

  • The position setting for Encoder 3 is activated: with a 1 signal at the binector input p2514, the position actual value is set to the value received via the connector input p2515 (CI: p2515).
  • While this setting is active, a system deviation that may be present cannot be corrected — the alarm is raised to report exactly this state.

What to check

  1. No remedial action is necessary. The condition ends by itself: as soon as the binector input p2514 returns to the 0 signal, the alarm is withdrawn automatically.

Parameters the manual names

  • p2514 — BI: LR activate position actual value setting / s_act setting act. The binector input whose 1 signal activates the setting of the position actual value for Encoder 3 and keeps A07586 present; returning it to the 0 signal ends the alarm.
  • p2515 — CI: LR position actual setting setting value / s_act set setVal. The connector input from which the drive takes the value that replaces the Encoder 3 position actual value while p2514 = 1.

Acknowledging and restarting

A07586 requires no acknowledgement. The alarm is automatically withdrawn with binector input p2514 = 0 signal. No reset command is involved — the condition simply ends when the position setting function is switched off at p2514.

Questions technicians ask

What does alarm A07586 mean on a SINAMICS drive?

It reports that the position actual value of Encoder 3 is currently being set: while the binector input p2514 has a 1 signal, the actual value is set to the value supplied at connector input p2515, and any system deviation cannot be corrected during this time.

How do I clear or reset A07586?

No acknowledgement is needed. The alarm is withdrawn automatically as soon as p2514 returns to the 0 signal.

Is A07586 dangerous, or must something be repaired?

The manuals state that a remedy is not necessary; the alarm only signals that the position setting function for Encoder 3 is active and disappears by itself when p2514 = 0.

What do p2514 and p2515 do for A07586?

p2514 is the binector input that activates the position actual value setting, and p2515 is the connector input carrying the setting value that replaces the Encoder 3 position actual value while p2514 = 1.
