What it means

F35405 reports that the temperature evaluation of channel 9 on a Terminal Module 150 (TM150) has left the permissible range. The monitoring trips either when the alarm threshold has been exceeded longer than the timer allows (p4102[18], p4103[9]) or when the fault threshold p4102[19] is exceeded. The condition is detected on the Terminal Module and reaches the drive object via BICO interconnection. Depending on how the drive is configured, the same condition can also be output as an alarm or without any reaction. The evaluated temperature of the channel is visible at connector output r4105[9] and can be interconnected. Note the manual's remark: This fault only causes the drive to shut down if there is at least one BICO interconnection between the drive and the Terminal Module.

Why it appears

  • The alarm threshold of channel 9 (p4102[18]) was exceeded for longer than the delay time set in p4103[9].
  • The fault threshold of channel 9 (p4102[19]) was exceeded.

What to check

  1. Allow the temperature sensor to cool down until its value is below the fault threshold p4102[19] minus the hysteresis p4118[9].
  2. For sensor type PTC thermistor or Bimetallic NC contact (p4100[9] = 1, 4), read the sensor resistance at r4101[9] to interpret the channel: if r4101[9] is greater than 1650 ohms, the drive shows 250 °C at r4105[9]; if r4101[9] is 1650 ohms or less, it shows -50 °C. The actual value of the channel is at connector output r4105[9].
  3. If required, set the fault response to NONE using p2100 and p2101.

Parameters the manual names

  • p4102 — holds the temperature thresholds that channel 9 is monitored against: index [18] is the alarm threshold, index [19] the fault threshold.
  • p4103 — the delay time in [9]: how long the alarm threshold may be exceeded before this fault is initiated.

  • p2101 — response for the fault number entered in p2100; set it to NONE if the temperature monitoring should not shut the drive down.
  • r0949 — fault value memory; for this fault it carries the temperature at the moment of initiation in 0.1 °C.

Acknowledging and restarting

Once the sensor has cooled below the fault threshold p4102[19] minus the hysteresis p4118[9], acknowledge the fault; acknowledgement is possible immediately, and a POWER ON also clears it, after which the drive can be restarted. If the drive is configured to output this condition only as an alarm or with no reaction, neither a reaction nor an acknowledgement is required.
