What it means

F33405 is raised when the drive detects an inadmissibly high temperature in the encoder electronics or in the encoder evaluation of Encoder 3 — the evaluation used for a motor with DRIVE-CLiQ. The G130/G150 manual states the fault threshold as 125 °C; the temperature measured at the moment of the fault is stored in the fault value r0949 in 0.1 °C. Depending on the drive configuration, the same condition can also be signalled as an alarm (A) or as a message without reaction (N); for those variants the manual specifies neither a reaction nor an acknowledgement.

Why it appears

  • An inadmissibly high temperature was detected in the encoder electronics or in the encoder evaluation.
  • The evaluation belongs to a motor with DRIVE-CLiQ; on G130/G150 the manual names the fault threshold as 125 °C.

What to check

  1. Read the fault value in r0949 to see how hot the evaluation was when the drive tripped; the two manuals encode it differently, see the decoding below.
  2. Reduce the ambient temperature for the DRIVE-CLiQ connection of the motor — this is the remedy the manuals give for this fault.
  3. Once the temperature at the encoder has dropped, acknowledge the fault immediately so the drive can be started again.

Reading the message value

  • S120/S150: r0949 is interpreted hexadecimal: yyxxxx hex, where yy is the temperature sensor number and xxxx the measured module temperature in 0.1 °C. The message value correspondingly carries the temperature in 0.1 °C and the temperature sensor number.
  • G130/G150: r0949 is interpreted decimal and contains the measured board/module temperature in 0.1 °C.

Acknowledging and restarting

If the drive is configured to signal the same condition only as an alarm (A) or without reaction (N), neither a reaction nor an acknowledgement is specified.
