F07560 — Drive encoder: Number of pulses is not to the power of two

F07560 signals that the pulse number of a rotary absolute encoder is not a power of two. For such encoders the drive requires the value in p0408 (rotary encoder pulse number) to be a power of two and raises this fault when it is not. Both the fault value and the message value tell you which encoder data set is involved.

• For a rotary absolute encoder, the pulse number entered in p0408 is not a power of two.

1. Check the encoder parameterization — the pulse number in p0408 together with p0404.1 and r0458.5 — and make sure the value in p0408 is a power of two.
2. If the parameterization is correct, upgrade the Sensor Module firmware if necessary.

• The drive stores the fault value in r0949; interpret it as a decimal number.
• The fault value contains the number of the encoder data set involved.
• The message value of the fault names it as well and reads Encoder data set: %1, with %1 standing for the encoder data set number involved.

• p0408 — rotary encoder pulse number: the value that must be a power of two for a rotary absolute encoder; check and correct it here.
• p0404 — encoder configuration effective: check the value at p0404.1 as part of the encoder parameterization check.
• r0458 — Sensor Module properties: check the value at r0458.5 together with the encoder parameterization.
• r0949 — fault value: read it as a decimal number to identify the encoder data set involved.

Acknowledge the fault immediately; a POWER ON also clears it. Because the cause lies in the encoder parameterization, correct p0408 before restarting — as long as the pulse number is not a power of two, the drive raises F07560 again.
