A32432Encoder 2: Rotor position adaptation corrects deviation

What it means

This alarm comes from Encoder 2: on track A/B the drive has lost pulses or counted too many, and the rotor position adaptation is presently correcting the resulting deviation of the zero mark. The alarm itself does not stop the drive. Depending on how the drive is configured, the same condition can also be issued as a fault (F) or as a message with no reaction (N).

Why it appears

  • On track A/B of Encoder 2, pulses have been lost or too many pulses have been counted; these pulses are presently being corrected by the rotor position adaptation.

What to check

  1. Check that the encoder cables are routed in compliance with EMC.
  2. Check the plug connections.
  3. Replace the encoder or the encoder cable.
  4. Check the encoder limit frequency.
  5. Adapt the parameter for the distance between zero marks (p0424, p0425).

  • The drive stores the alarm value in r2124; interpret it as a decimal number.
  • The value is the last measured deviation of the zero mark in increments.
  • 4 increments correspond to 1 encoder pulse.
