What it means
The drive checks the incremental position of Encoder 2 every time the zero pulse is passed. A32431 is raised when this check detects that the deviation from the expected position is too large. Depending on the drive configuration, the same condition can also be output as a fault or with no reaction (N).
Why it appears
- The incremental position of Encoder 2 deviates too much from the expected position when the zero pulse is passed.
- With equidistant zero marks, the first zero mark passed supplies the reference point for all subsequent checks; each further zero mark must then lie at n times the distance referred to the first zero mark. If the zero marks no longer keep these distances, the drive detects the deviation.
- With distance-coded zero marks, the first zero mark pair supplies the reference point for all subsequent checks; each further zero mark pair must keep the expected distance to the first zero mark pair.
