A30042 — Power unit: Fan has reached the maximum operating hours

A30042 signals that the maximum operating time of at least one fan in the power unit — the heat sink fan or the fan inside the device — will soon be reached or has already been exceeded. The drive places the alarm value from r2124 into the message value; it is interpreted in binary and names the fan and the stage. The early warning already appears 500 operating hours before the counter reaches its limit. The maximum operating time of the heat sink fan is displayed in p0252, while the limit of the fan inside the device is internally specified and fixed.

• At least one fan of the power unit is approaching its maximum operating time — the warning already comes 500 operating hours before the limit.
• The maximum operating time of at least one fan has already been exceeded.

1. Read the alarm value in r2124 in binary to identify which fan is involved and at which stage (see the bit list below).
2. Replace the fan involved.
3. Reset the operating hours counter: p0251 for the heat sink fan, p0254 for the fan inside the converter.
4. If the heat sink fan is involved, r0277 (wear counter) and p0252 (maximum operating time) show how close the fan is to its limit.

The message value carries the alarm value from r2124, to be interpreted in binary. The manuals print different bit assignments for the different drive families:

S120 / S150:

• Bit 0 = 1: the operating hours counter of the heat sink fan will reach the maximum operating time in 500 hours; after those 500 hours, bit 0 is cleared and bit 2 is set.
• Bit 1 = 1: the wear counter of the heat sink fan has reached 99 %, the remaining service life is 1 %; after that 1 % has elapsed, bit 1 is cleared and bit 2 is set.
• Bit 2 = 1: the operating hours counter of the heat sink fan has exceeded the maximum operating time and/or the wear counter has exceeded 100 %.
• Bit 8 = 1: the operating hours counter of the fan inside the device will reach the maximum operating time in 500 hours; after those 500 hours, bit 8 is cleared and bit 10 is set.
• Bit 10 = 1: the operating hours counter of the fan inside the device has exceeded the maximum operating time.

G120 / G120XA / G130 / G150:

• Bit 0: heat sink fan will reach the maximum operating time in 500 hours.
• Bit 1: heat sink fan has exceeded the maximum operating time.
• Bit 8: internal device fan will reach the maximum operating time in 500 hours.
• Bit 9: internal device fan has exceeded the maximum operating time.

• r2124 — alarm value; read it in binary to see which fan raised A30042 and at which stage.
• p0251 — operating hours counter of the power unit heat sink fan; reset it after replacing the heat sink fan.
• p0252 — maximum operating time of the power unit heat sink fan, displayed there; the limit of the internal device fan is internally specified and fixed.
• p0254 — operating hours counter of the fan inside the converter; reset it after replacing that fan.
• r0277 — wear counter of the power unit heat sink fan; it is the counter behind the 99 % warning bit.

The drive takes no protective action for this alarm and no acknowledgement is required. It is a service message: the reported condition is removed by carrying out the remedy — replace the fan involved and reset its operating hours counter with p0251 (heat sink fan) or p0254 (fan inside the converter).
