A30032Power unit: Hardware current limiting in phase V

What it means

Alarm A30032 reports that the hardware current limit for phase V has responded in the power unit. The protective response is momentary: the pulsing in this phase is inhibited for one pulse period. The manuals add a note about how this alarm appears: Alarm A30031 is always output if, for a Power Module, the hardware current limiting of phase U, V or W responds. Since this alarm means that the phase V current limiting responded, A30031 is output alongside it.

Why it appears

  • The closed-loop control is parameterized incorrectly for the motor actually connected.
  • There is a fault in the motor or in the power cables.
  • The power cables are longer than the maximum permissible length.
  • The motor load is too high.
  • The power unit itself is defective.

What to check

  1. Check the motor data; if it does not match the drive settings, recalculate the control parameters by setting p0340 = 3.
  2. As an alternative to recalculating, run a motor data identification with p1910 = 1 and p1960 = 1.
  3. Check the motor circuit configuration (star/delta).
  4. Check the motor load.
  5. Check the power cable connections.
  6. Check the power cables for short-circuit or ground fault.
  7. Check that the length of the power cables does not exceed the maximum permissible length.
