What it means
A30033 is the alarm for the hardware current limiting of phase W in the power unit. The hardware current limit for phase W has responded, and the drive inhibits the pulsing in this phase for one pulse period. The manual adds that alarm A30031 is always output when, for a Power Module, the hardware current limiting of phase U, V or W responds — so this phase W alarm appears together with A30031.
Why it appears
- The closed-loop control is parameterized incorrectly.
- There is a fault in the motor or in the power cables.
- The power cables exceed the maximum permissible length.
- The load on the motor is too high.
- The power unit is defective.
What to check
- Check the motor data, and if they require it, recalculate the control parameters with p0340 = 3.
- Instead of recalculating, you can run a motor data identification by setting p1910 = 1 and p1960 = 1.
- Check that the motor circuit configuration (star/delta) is correct.
- Check the load on the motor.
- Check the power cable connections.
- Check the power cables for a short-circuit or a ground fault.
- Check the length of the power cables against the maximum permissible length.
Parameters the manual names
- p0340 — automatic parameter calculation: set to 3 so the drive recalculates the control parameters from the checked motor data.
- p1910 — set to 1 to activate the standstill measurement of the motor data identification that replaces the recalculation.
- p1960 — set to 1 to select the moving measurement within that same identification run.
Acknowledging and restarting
This alarm needs no acknowledgement, and the drive takes no action of its own in response. The work lies in the checks above: once the cause in the motor circuit, the load or the power unit itself is removed, the hardware current limit in phase W no longer responds and the alarm condition is gone.
