The S120/S150 manual for the SERVO drive objects explains what the measurement means for the machine: the motor can accelerate up to the maximum speed and with maximum torque
. During the measurement only the parameterized current limit (p0640) and the maximum speed (p1082) are effective; the direction inhibit (p1959.14, p1959.15) and the ramp-up/ramp-down time (p1958) let you influence the motor's behavior.
Why it appears
- The rotating measurement (on vector drive objects: the automatic speed controller optimization) is activated. It is not executed immediately — the measurement runs at the next switch-on command.
- On the S120/S150 SERVO drive objects the alarm additionally signals a measurement in which only the current limit p0640 and the maximum speed p1082 remain effective.
What to check
- Confirm that the rotating measurement is intended. If it is, no action is necessary — switch the drive on and let the measurement run to completion.
- If the measurement was selected unintentionally, deselect it: p1960 = 0 on the S120/S150 SERVO drive objects, or p1900 = 0 on the vector drive objects. The alarm is withdrawn for these settings.
- While the measurement is running, parameters cannot be saved (p0971; on the G130/G150 and S120/S150 vector drive objects also p0977) — saving is simply not possible during this time.

- p1900 — motor data identification and rotating measurement; setting p1900 = 0 withdraws the alarm on the vector drive objects.

- p1082 — maximum speed; the upper limit for the motor during the rotating measurement on the S120/S150 SERVO drive objects.

- p1958 — ramp-up/ramp-down time that shapes the motor's motion during the rotating measurement (S120/S150 SERVO drive objects).

One caution from the S120/S150 manual for the SERVO drive objects: if a POWER ON or a warm restart is performed with motor data identification selected, the motor data identification request is lost and has to be selected again manually following ramp-up.
