What it means
A07910 is the motor overtemperature alarm: the drive reports that the motor is running too hot. With a KTY84/PT1000 sensor (on the G120XA also PT100) or with no sensor connected, the measured motor temperature — or the temperature calculated by motor temperature model 2 — has exceeded the alarm threshold (p0604, p0616), and the response parameterized in p0610 becomes active. With a PTC or a bimetallic NC contact, the response threshold of 1650 Ohm was exceeded or the NC contact opened. Depending on the drive configuration, the same condition can also be issued with no reaction (N).
Why it appears
- With a KTY84/PT1000 sensor (on the G120XA also PT100) or with no sensor at all: the measured motor temperature, or the temperature of motor temperature model 2, has exceeded the alarm threshold (p0604, p0616). The response parameterized in p0610 becomes active.
- With a PTC or a bimetallic NC contact (for the SERVO drive objects of the S120/S150 the manual names only a PTC here): the response threshold of 1650 Ohm was exceeded, or the NC contact opened.
What to check
- Check the motor load.
- Check the motor ambient temperature and cooling.
- Check the temperature sensor: KTY84 or PT1000 (on the G120XA also PT100), or the PTC / bimetallic NC contact.
- Check the monitoring limits (p0604, p0605).
- Activate/check the parameters of the motor temperature model (p0612, p0626 and following): the overtemperature limits of stator core (p0626), stator winding (p0627) and rotor (p0628), together with the motor ambient temperature during commissioning (p0625).
Reading the message value
- The message value is the alarm value that the drive stores in r2124; interpret it as a decimal number.
- If no SME is selected in p0601: 11 — no output current reduction; 12 — output current reduction active.
- If SME or TM120 is selected in p0601 (p0601 = 10, 11): the value is the number of the temperature channel that led to the message.
- For the SERVO drive objects of the S120/S150, the value is the number of the temperature channel that led to the message.
Parameters the manual names
- p0604 — sensor alarm threshold of motor temperature model 2: the limit whose exceeding raised A07910; check it as one of the monitoring limits.
- p0616 — motor overtemperature alarm threshold 1: named together with p0604 as the alarm threshold that was exceeded.
- p0610 — motor overtemperature response: sets what the drive does when the threshold is reached; this response is active while A07910 is present.
- r2124 — alarm value: holds the value of this message; interpret it as a decimal number.
- p0601 — motor temperature sensor type: the sensor selected here determines how the alarm value is to be read.

Acknowledging and restarting
A07910 requires no acknowledgement. What the drive does while the message is present is decided solely by the response set in p0610; the alarm value in r2124 shows whether output current reduction is active (12) or not (11). Depending on the drive configuration, the condition can also be output with no reaction (N).
