A02070Trace: Parameter cannot be changed

What it means

Alarm A02070 comes from the trace function: a parameter of the trace was to be written while the trace was still active. As long as a trace runs, its settings are locked, the drive rejects the change and signals A02070. The affected settings are the trace parameters p4700 ... p4795 named by the manual — the trace control, the trigger settings, recording cycle and recording time, the recorded signals with their physical addresses, and the memory bank changeover. The manual describes the alarm identically for G120, G130, G150, S120 and S150. The drive does not trip and the alarm needs no acknowledgement; it is a hint that the parameterization sequence was wrong.

Why it appears

  • A trace is active and a write attempt was made to one of its parameters. The trace settings cannot be changed while the trace runs.
  • The parameters concerned are the trace parameters p4700, p4710 ... p4795 that the manual lists for this alarm (see the list below).

What to check

  1. Stop the active trace — the trace control is p4700 — so that the trace settings can be written again.
  2. Carry out the parameter changes that were rejected.
  3. If the recording is still required, start the trace again.

Parameters the manual names

The manual names the following trace parameters for this alarm. Every one of them accepts changes only while the trace is stopped:

  • p4700 — trace control; the trace is stopped and restarted through this parameter.
  • p4710 — trace trigger condition.
  • p4711 — trace trigger signal.
  • p4712 — trace trigger threshold.
  • p4713 — trace tolerance band trigger threshold 1.
  • p4714 — trace tolerance band trigger threshold 2.
  • p4715 — trace bit mask trigger, bit mask.
  • p4716 — trace bit mask trigger trigger condition.
  • p4720 — trace recording cycle.
  • p4721 — trace recording time.
  • p4722 — trace trigger delay.
  • p4730 — trace record signal 0.
  • p4731 — trace record signal 1.
  • p4732 — trace record signal 2.
  • p4733 — trace record signal 3.
  • p4780 — trace physical address signal 0.
  • p4781 — trace physical address signal 1.
  • p4782 — trace physical address signal 2.
  • p4783 — trace physical address signal 3.
  • p4789 — trace physical address trigger signal.
  • p4795 — trace memory bank changeover.

Acknowledging and restarting

This alarm requires no acknowledgement. Stop the trace, make the parameter changes, and start the trace again if the recording is still needed.

Questions technicians ask

What does alarm A02070 mean on a SINAMICS drive?

It is a trace alarm: a trace parameter was to be changed while the trace was active. The drive rejects the change until the trace is stopped.

How do I fix alarm A02070?

Stop the active trace — the trace control is p4700 — and then make the parameter changes. If the measurement is still required, start the trace again afterwards.

Does A02070 have to be acknowledged?

No. The alarm does not trip the drive and no acknowledgement is needed — simply stop the trace and make the changes.

Which parameters are locked when A02070 appears?

The trace parameters p4700, p4710 ... p4716, p4720 ... p4722, p4730 ... p4733, p4780 ... p4783, p4789 and p4795 — the trace control plus the trigger, recording and signal settings of the trace function.
