A02059 — Trace: Time slice clock cycle for 2 x 8 recording channels not valid

This alarm comes from the trace function. The message text speaks of 2 x 8 recording channels, and the condition behind it is stated plainly: the selected time slice clock cycle cannot be used for more than 4 recording channels. In other words, a trace that is set up to record more than 4 channels is being operated with a time slice clock cycle the drive only permits for up to 4 channels. The alarm points at the trace parameterization — the clock cycle set in p4723 — not at a hardware condition.

• A time slice clock cycle has been selected for the trace (trace time slice cycle, p4723) that cannot be used when more than 4 recording channels are configured; the message text names the 2 x 8 recording channel configuration.

1. Read out the existing time slices and their cycle times with r7901 (sampling times).
2. Set a valid clock cycle in p4723: enter the clock cycle of an existing time slice with a cycle time >= 4 ms.
3. Alternatively, reduce the number of recording channels to 4 per trace so that the selected clock cycle becomes usable.

• p4723 (trace time slice cycle): the parameter in which the clock cycle of the trace's time slice is entered — here you set a clock cycle that is permissible for the configured number of recording channels, i.e. that of an existing time slice with a cycle time >= 4 ms.
• r7901 (sampling times): read this parameter out to see which time slices exist, and take the clock cycle to enter in p4723 from one of them.

No acknowledgement is required, and the drive takes no protective reaction, so no restart step is needed. The alarm is resolved by correcting the trace configuration: once p4723 holds the clock cycle of an existing time slice with a cycle time >= 4 ms, or the trace records at most 4 channels, the condition named by the alarm no longer applies.
