What it means

Depending on the drive's configuration, the same condition can also be issued only as an alarm (A) or with no reaction at all (N). The manual adds a caution in its own words: This fault only causes the drive to shut down if there is at least one BICO interconnection between the drive and the Terminal Module.
Why it appears
- The alarm threshold of channel 3 has been exceeded longer than the delay time set in the timer (p4102[6], p4103[3]).
- The fault threshold of channel 3 has been exceeded (p4102[7]).
What to check
- Read the fault value in r0949 (interpret it as a decimal number): the temperature actual value at the time the fault was initiated, in 0.1 °C.
- Look at the current channel 3 temperature on connector output r4105[3].
- With a PTC thermistor or a bimetallic NC contact as sensor type (p4100[3] = 1, 4), interpret the value via the sensor resistance r4101[3]: above 1650 ohms the drive reports 250 °C at r4105[3], at 1650 ohms or below it reports −50 °C.
- Let the temperature sensor cool down until it falls below the fault threshold p4102[7] minus the hysteresis (5 K; on the TM150 this hysteresis can be set with p4118[3]).
- If required, set the fault response for this fault to NONE using p2100 and p2101.

- The drive stores the temperature actual value at the time of fault initiation in r0949, to be interpreted as a decimal number, in units of 0.1 °C; the message value %1 carries this value.
Parameters the manual names
- p4102[6] / p4102[7] — alarm threshold and fault threshold of channel 3: the fault comes either from the timer on the alarm threshold or from exceeding the fault threshold; the sensor must cool below the fault threshold minus hysteresis before the fault clears.
- p4103[3] — delay time of the channel 3 temperature monitoring: how long the alarm threshold may stay exceeded before the fault is initiated.
- p4100[3] — sensor type of channel 3; 1 means PTC thermistor, 4 means bimetallic NC contact.
- r4101[3] — sensor resistance of the Terminal Module; with a PTC thermistor or bimetallic NC contact it decides whether the drive displays 250 °C or −50 °C.
- r4105[3] — connector output (CO) with the channel 3 temperature actual value; it can be interconnected.
- r0949 — fault value, read as a decimal number: the channel 3 temperature at the moment the fault was initiated, in 0.1 °C.
- p4118[3] — hysteresis of the TM150 temperature thresholds; the 5 K hysteresis is set here.
- p2100 / p2101 — used together to change the fault response for this fault number, for example to NONE, if required.
Acknowledging and restarting
Acknowledge the fault immediately once the temperature sensor has cooled below the fault threshold p4102[7] minus the hysteresis (5 K; on the TM150 set with p4118[3]); a POWER ON also clears it. If the temperature is still above this level, the fault is initiated again right away. Remember that the drive only shuts down on this fault at all when at least one BICO interconnection exists between the drive and the Terminal Module.
