F32405Encoder 2: Temperature in the encoder evaluation exceeded

What it means

F32405 is raised when the evaluation electronics of Encoder 2 (Sensor Module Encoder 2) report an inadmissibly high temperature. The evaluation belongs to a motor connected via DRIVE-CLiQ; on G130 and G150 the manual gives the fault threshold as 125 °C. Depending on how the drive is configured, the same condition can also be output as an alarm or with no reaction at all.

  • An inadmissibly high temperature was detected in the encoder electronics or in the encoder evaluation of a motor with DRIVE-CLiQ.

What to check

  1. Read the measured temperature from the fault value r0949 to see how hot the evaluation actually got (decoding below).

  • On G130/G150, r0949 is interpreted decimal and holds the measured board/module temperature in 0.1 °C.
