What it means

F32151 (Encoder 2: Encoder speed for initialization AB too high) is raised when the encoder connected as encoder 2 turns too fast while its Sensor Module is being initialized. During this initialization the drive monitors the encoder speed, and if the speed is too high at that moment the message is issued at the Sensor Module for encoder 2. Depending on the drive's configuration, the same condition can also be output as an alarm (A) or with no reaction (N) instead of a fault.

Why it appears

  • The encoder speed was too high while the Sensor Module was initializing — the encoder on encoder 2 was turned faster during initialization than the drive permits for this procedure.

What to check

  1. Reduce the speed of the encoder accordingly during the Sensor Module initialization.
  2. If the speed cannot be reduced sufficiently, deactivate the monitoring with bit p0437.29 of p0437 (Sensor Module configuration extended).

After the encoder speed has been reduced or the monitoring has been deactivated, acknowledge the fault with the pulses inhibited: withdraw the pulse enable, acknowledge the message, and then return the pulse enable so the drive can be started again.
