F32150 — Encoder 2: Initialization error

F32150 reports that the initialization of Encoder 2 failed: the encoder functionality selected in p0404 cannot be executed, and the drive registers an encoder malfunction while setting this functionality up. The manual also words the same condition as the selected functionality is not operating correctly. What exactly failed is reported bitwise: the fault value in r0949, read as a hexadecimal number, follows the bit assignment of p0404, so the set bit names the affected encoder function — for example bit 5 set means Error track C/D. Depending on how the drive is configured, the same condition can also be issued as an alarm or with no reaction at all.

• The encoder functionality selected in p0404 for Encoder 2 cannot be executed — the drive has registered an encoder malfunction for the selected functionality.
• The fault value identifies the affected function after the bit assignment of p0404 (example printed in the manual: bit 5 set — Error track C/D).

1. Check that p0404 is set correctly.
2. Check the encoder type used — incremental or absolute — and, where the encoder is connected through an SMCxx, the encoder cable.
3. If relevant, note the additional fault messages that describe the fault in detail.

• The fault value is stored in r0949 and must be interpreted hexadecimal; it reports an encoder malfunction.
• Its bit assignment corresponds to that of p0404 — the set bits name the encoder functions of the selected configuration that are faulty.

• p0404 — Encoder configuration effective: this is the encoder functionality the drive is trying to execute when F32150 appears; check that it is set correctly, and use its bit assignment to decode the fault value.
• r0949 — Fault value: here the drive stores the fault value of F32150; read it hexadecimal and map the set bits onto p0404 (example: bit 5 — Error track C/D).

The drive switches off with OFF1 — the motor is braked along the ramp and the pulses are then inhibited. Once the pulses are inhibited, the fault can be acknowledged and the drive restarted. When the condition is output as an alarm or with no reaction, the manual specifies no reaction and no acknowledgement.
