What it means
F30809 is raised by the power unit when the switching information it receives cannot be used. The manuals for G120, G120XA, G130, G150, S120 and S150 describe the fault identically, and it carries no message value, so no further detail accompanies the code. The condition is defined for the 3P gating unit: For 3P gating unit, the following applies: The last switching status word in the setpoint telegram is identified by the end ID. Such an end ID was not found.
In other words, the marker that closes the last switching status word in the setpoint telegram is missing, so the power unit regards the switching information as not valid.
Why it appears
- In the setpoint telegram of the 3P gating unit, the last switching status word is identified by an end ID.
- The fault is raised because this end ID was not found.
What to check
- Carry out a POWER ON (switch-off/switch-on) for all components.
- Upgrade the firmware to a later version.
- Contact Technical Support.
Acknowledging and restarting
The drive coasts down and the fault must be acknowledged immediately before it can run again. Because the cause lies in the setpoint telegram handling or in the firmware, an acknowledgement alone is not the full remedy: switch all components off and on again (POWER ON) as the remedy prescribes, and upgrade the firmware if the fault reappears. As long as the end ID is not found in the setpoint telegram, F30809 will be raised again.

Questions technicians ask
What does fault F30809 mean on a SINAMICS drive?
It reports that the power unit's switching information is not valid: for the 3P gating unit, the end ID that identifies the last switching status word in the setpoint telegram was not found.
How do I clear F30809?
Carry out a POWER ON (switch-off/switch-on) for all components. If the fault persists, upgrade the firmware to a later version and contact Technical Support.
Why won't the drive restart after F30809?
The drive coasts down and the fault must be acknowledged immediately. It can only stay cleared once the end ID is again found in the setpoint telegram, so perform the POWER ON of all components before restarting.
