What it means
F30804 tells you that the drive has detected a checksum error (CRC error) for the power unit: the data of the power unit no longer passes the drive's checksum check. The manuals for the G120, G130, G150, S120 and S150 describe this code identically — the same single cause and the same three-step remedy for every family. Depending on how the drive is configured, the same condition can also be issued as an alarm (A) or with no reaction (N) instead of as a fault.
Why it appears
- A checksum error (CRC error) has occurred for the power unit.
- The manuals list no further root causes for this code — there is no separate catalogue of wiring, motor or parameter causes behind it.
What to check
- Carry out a POWER ON: switch off the drive and switch it on again — and do this for all components, not only the power unit.
- Upgrade the firmware to a later version.
- If the fault still occurs after the power-cycle and the firmware upgrade, contact Technical Support.
Acknowledging and restarting
Raised as a fault, F30804 coasts the drive down, and the fault must be acknowledged before the drive will start again; it can be acknowledged immediately, with no waiting time. A restart only makes sense after the POWER ON from the remedy above — switch all components off, switch them on, acknowledge the fault and start again. When the drive is configured to signal the same condition as an alarm (A) or with no reaction (N), it neither trips the drive nor requires any acknowledgement.

Questions technicians ask
What does fault F30804 mean on a SINAMICS drive?
It means a checksum error (CRC error) has occurred for the power unit. As a fault it coasts the drive down and must be acknowledged before the drive restarts.
How do I clear F30804?
Carry out a POWER ON (switch off/on) for all components, then acknowledge the fault and restart. If it comes back, upgrade the firmware to a later version, and contact Technical Support if the error still persists.
Does F30804 always stop the drive?
No. Depending on the drive's configuration, the same condition can also be issued as an alarm (A) or with no reaction (N); in those cases the drive keeps running and no acknowledgement is required.
Do I need to replace hardware after F30804?
The manuals do not call for replacing any part. The remedy is a power-cycle of all components, a firmware upgrade and, if the error stays, Technical Support.
