What it means
F30052 reports an EEPROM data error of the power unit module — the Power Module. The drive stores a fault value in r0949, which must be interpreted as a decimal number; it distinguishes two situations: data that is read incorrectly from the module, and data that does not match the firmware (decoding below). On the G120C and G115D the same code appears under the name "Incorrect Power Module data". When the fault is raised, the drive coasts the motor down (OFF2) and will only start again once the cause has been remedied and the fault has been acknowledged by switching the power off and on.
Why it appears
- The EEPROM data read in from the power unit module is incorrect — in the wording of the G120 and G120XA manuals, inconsistent (fault values 0, 2, 3 and 4).
- The EEPROM data is not compatible with the firmware: with the firmware of the power unit application (S120/S150, G130/G150) or, on the G120 and G120XA, with the firmware of the Control Unit (fault value 1).
What to check
- Read the fault value in r0949 and interpret it as a decimal number — it decides which remedy applies.
- Fault values 0, 2, 3 or 4: replace the power unit module or update the EEPROM data. For the G120 and G120XA, the manuals name only the replacement of the power unit module.
- Fault value 1, per the S120/S150 and G130/G150 manuals:
The following applies for CU31x and CUA31: Update the firmware \SIEMENS\SINAMICS\CODE\SAC\cu31xi.ufw (cua31.ufw)
- After the remedy, switch the drive off and on again to acknowledge the fault, then restart.
Reading the message value
- 0, 2, 3, 4 — the EEPROM data read in from the power unit module is incorrect (G120/G120XA: inconsistent).
- 1 — the EEPROM data is not compatible with the firmware: of the power unit application (S120/S150, G130/G150) or of the Control Unit (G120, G120XA).
- Additional values: only for internal Siemens troubleshooting.
Parameters the manual names
- r0949 — fault value: read it here, interpreting the number as decimal, to see whether the EEPROM data is merely faulty (0, 2, 3, 4) or incompatible with the firmware (1), and to pick the matching remedy.
Acknowledging and restarting
The acknowledgement is POWER ON: after the remedy, switch the drive off and on again — only then will it restart. Because the reaction is OFF2, the motor coasts down as soon as the fault is raised and the drive remains stopped until the fault has been acknowledged in this way.

Questions technicians ask
What does fault F30052 mean on a SINAMICS drive?
The EEPROM data of the power unit module (Power Module) cannot be used: it is either read incorrectly (fault values 0, 2, 3, 4) or it does not match the firmware (fault value 1). The exact value is stored in r0949 and must be read as a decimal number.
How do I fix F30052?
For fault values 0, 2, 3 and 4, replace the power unit module or update the EEPROM data. For fault value 1, update the firmware — for CU31x and CUA31 the manual names the file \SIEMENS\SINAMICS\CODE\SAC\cu31xi.ufw (cua31.ufw). Then switch the drive off and on again.
Does F30052 always mean the Power Module must be replaced?
No. For values 0, 2, 3 and 4 the S120/S150 and G130/G150 manuals also allow updating the EEPROM data, and value 1 is remedied by a firmware update. The G120 and G120XA manuals name only the replacement of the power unit module.
Why will the drive not restart after F30052?
The fault is acknowledged with POWER ON, so the drive only starts again after it has been switched off and on once the cause has been remedied.
