What it means
F30045 reports a power supply fault in the power unit: the voltage monitor signals an undervoltage fault on the module. On a CU31x this signal comes from the voltage monitoring on the DAC board. On S120M the message is displayed for an undervoltage or an overvoltage, so there it does not by itself tell the two conditions apart. The drive coasts down and will not start again until the fault has been acknowledged. Other supply-voltage codes of the power unit — F30040, F30043 and F30050 — are described on their own pages.
Why it appears
- The power unit has detected a power supply fault: the module's voltage monitor signals an undervoltage fault on the module.
- On a CU31x, the undervoltage fault on the module is reported by the voltage monitoring on the DAC board.
- For S120M, this message is displayed for undervoltage or overvoltage, so the condition behind it may also be an overvoltage.
What to check
- Check the power supply of the power unit.
- Carry out a POWER ON for the component — switch it off and switch it back on.
- Replace the module if necessary.
Acknowledging and restarting
This fault is acknowledged with a POWER ON: switch the component off and switch it on again. The manual places this step directly after checking the power supply of the power unit, so only power the component up once the supply has been checked. If the fault is raised again after the POWER ON, the module has to be replaced.
The same on every family

Questions technicians ask
What does F30045 mean on a SINAMICS drive?
The power unit reports a power supply fault: its voltage monitor signals an undervoltage fault on the module. On a CU31x the signal comes from the voltage monitoring on the DAC board.
How do I clear fault F30045?
Check the power supply of the power unit, then carry out a POWER ON for the component — switch it off and on again. Replace the module if the fault persists.
Why does F30045 appear on an S120M even though the supply is not undervoltage?
On S120M this message is displayed for undervoltage or overvoltage, so it can also point to an overvoltage condition.
