F07802Drive: Infeed or power unit not ready

What it means

F07802 means that the infeed or power unit did not signal ready after an internal switch-on command. The drive issues the switch-on command internally and gives the infeed or power unit a monitoring time (p0857) to answer with the ready signal; if that signal has not arrived when the monitoring time runs out, the drive raises this fault and coasts down. The manuals for the listed converter families describe the same condition and the same remedy for this code, so the description below applies to all of them.

Why it appears

  • The monitoring time (p0857) is set too short, so the drive evaluates the ready signal before the infeed or power unit can report it.
  • No DC link voltage is present.
  • The associated infeed or the drive of the signaling component is defective.
  • The supply voltage is set incorrectly (line supply voltage setting p0210).

What to check

  1. Increase the power unit monitoring time p0857 if it is too short.
  2. Make sure that a DC link voltage is present: check the DC link busbar and enable the infeed.
  3. If the associated infeed or the drive of the signaling component is defective, replace it.
  4. Check the line supply voltage setting in p0210.

Parameters the manual names

  • p0857 — Power unit monitoring time (PU t_mon): raise this time so the infeed or power unit has long enough to signal ready after the internal switch-on command.
  • p0210 — Drive unit line supply voltage (U_connect): check this setting when the fault occurs, because an incorrectly set supply voltage is one of the listed causes.

Acknowledging and restarting

While F07802 is active the drive coasts the motor down, and the fault must be acknowledged before the drive will accept a new switch-on command. Remove the cause first — monitoring time, DC link voltage, supply voltage setting or a defective infeed or signaling component — then acknowledge the fault and switch the drive on again.

What differs between the drive families

Straight from the manuals' own fields — F07802 is not described identically everywhere.

Questions technicians ask

What does fault F07802 mean on a SINAMICS drive?

After an internal switch-on command, the infeed or power unit did not signal ready within the monitoring time (p0857), so the drive raised this fault and coasted down.

How do I clear F07802?

Remove the cause first: increase p0857 if the monitoring time is too short, make sure a DC link voltage is present (check the DC link busbar and enable the infeed), and check the line supply voltage setting p0210. Then acknowledge the fault and switch the drive on again.

Which parameters belong to F07802?

p0857, the power unit monitoring time, and p0210, the drive unit line supply voltage.

Why does F07802 come back after every reset?

Then the underlying condition is still present — a missing DC link voltage, an incorrect p0210 setting, a monitoring time that is still too short, or a defective infeed or drive of the signaling component.
