F07518Drive: Motor data set changeover incorrectly parameterized

What it means

F07518 is raised when the drive identifies that two motor data sets were parameterized incorrectly. As parameterized, It is not possible to toggle between motor data sets. The cause lies in the parameterization/configuration, and the drive takes no automatic action — the changeover simply cannot be executed until the motor data sets are corrected.

Why it appears

  • The drive has identified that two motor data sets were incorrectly parameterized.
  • r0313 — calculated by the drive from p0314, p0310 and p0311 — together with r0315 and p1982 may only have different values in the two data sets if the data sets are assigned to different motors.
  • p0827 is used to assign the motors and contactors; with the current assignment, toggling between the motor data sets is not possible.

What to check

  1. Read the fault value in r0949 as a hexadecimal number: it shows the first DDS with its assigned MDS and the second DDS with its assigned MDS.
  2. Compare r0313 between the two motor data sets; the drive calculates it from p0314, p0310 and p0311, and both data sets must produce the same value unless they are assigned to different motors.
  3. Compare r0315 and p1982 between the two motor data sets under the same rule.
  4. Check the assignment of motors and contactors in p0827.
  5. Correct the parameterization of the motor data sets, as the remedy requires.

Reading the message value

  • The drive stores the fault value in r0949; interpret it in hexadecimal as xxxxyyyy.
  • xxxx — first DDS with assigned MDS.
  • yyyy — second DDS with assigned MDS.

Parameters the manual names

  • r0949 — fault value; read it in hexadecimal to identify the two DDS/MDS combinations the drive is complaining about.
  • r0313 — motor pole pair number that the drive calculates from p0314, p0310 and p0311; compare it between the two motor data sets.
  • r0315 — must carry the same value in both motor data sets unless each data set is assigned a different motor.
  • p1982 — must carry the same value in both motor data sets unless each data set is assigned a different motor.
  • p0827 — assigns the motors and contactors for the changeover; verify this assignment when the fault appears.

Acknowledging and restarting

Correct the parameterization of the motor data sets, then acknowledge the fault immediately. This is the only remedy the manual gives for F07518 — no further reset steps are described.

The same on every family

Every manual that describes F07518 gives it the same reaction, acknowledgement and message class.

Questions technicians ask

What does SINAMICS fault F07518 mean?

The drive has identified that two motor data sets are incorrectly parameterized, so it is not possible to toggle between them. Values such as r0313, r0315 and p1982 may only differ if each data set is assigned a different motor.

How do I fix fault F07518?

Correct the parameterization of the motor data sets and then acknowledge the fault immediately. The fault value in r0949, read in hexadecimal, tells you which two DDS/MDS combinations are involved.

Which parameters trigger F07518?

r0313, which the drive calculates from p0314, p0310 and p0311, plus r0315 and p1982 must match in both motor data sets unless the data sets are assigned different motors. p0827 assigns the motors and contactors for the changeover.

What does the F07518 fault value show?

Read r0949 in hexadecimal as xxxxyyyy: xxxx is the first DDS with its assigned MDS and yyyy is the second DDS with its assigned MDS.
