What it means

F07509 reports an incomplete data-set cross-reference: a Drive Data Set (DDS) is assigned to a Motor Data Set (MDS) or an Encoder Data Set (EDS) that does not have a component number. The drive data sets reach their motor and encoder data sets through p0186, p0187, p0188 and p0189, and each referenced MDS/EDS must carry a component number — for the motor data set in p0131, for the encoder side in p0141 and p0142. When an assignment points to a data set whose component number is missing, the drive trips and stores the details of the incomplete reference in the fault value.

Why it appears

  • A Drive Data Set (DDS) is assigned to a Motor Data Set (MDS) or Encoder Data Set (EDS) in which no component number is set.
  • The referencing assignment is made in the drive data set via p0186 (motor data set) or p0187, p0188 and p0189 (encoder data sets); the fault is raised when the component number of the referenced data set — held in p0131, p0141 or p0142 — is missing.

What to check

  1. Decode the fault value in r0949 (decimal): the layout nnmmmxxyyy identifies the number of the MDS/EDS (nn), the parameter in which the component number is missing (mmm), the number of the DDS involved (xx) and the parameter that references the MDS/EDS (yyy).
  2. Open the drive data set found under xx and check the assignment that parameter yyy makes in p0186, p0187, p0188 or p0189.
  3. Then either stop assigning the MDS/EDS in the drive data sets via p0186, p0187, p0188 and p0189, or set a valid component number for the referenced data set in the parameter named by mmm — p0131 for the motor component number, p0141 or p0142 for the encoder component numbers.

Reading the message value

  • The fault value is held in r0949 and is interpreted as a decimal number with the layout nnmmmxxyyy.
  • nn: Number of the MDS/EDS.
  • mmm: Parameter number of the missing component number.
  • xx: Number of the DDS that is assigned to the MDS/EDS.
  • yyy: Parameter number that references the MDS/EDS.
  • The manual gives this example: p0186[7] = 5 means DDS 7 is assigned MDS 5, and p0131[5] = 0 means there is no component number set in MDS 5.

Acknowledging and restarting

Once the drive data set no longer references the affected MDS/EDS, or a valid component number has been set, acknowledge the fault immediately. The drive coasts down with this fault and accepts a new start command only after F07509 has been acknowledged.
