What it means
F07011 Drive: Motor overtemperature is raised when the drive judges the motor temperature to be too high. The trigger depends on the sensor that is connected: with a KTY84 or PT1000 sensor (one manual also lists PT100, and the monitoring also runs with no sensor via the model), the measured motor temperature or the model temperature has exceeded the fault threshold (p0605), or the timer (p0606) has expired after the alarm threshold (p0604) was exceeded. With a PTC or bimetallic NC contact, the response threshold of 1650 Ohm was exceeded or the NC contact opened, and the timer (p0606) has expired. The motor temperature model itself can also raise the fault when its calculated temperature is too high. When the fault triggers, the response parameterized in p0610 becomes active: the drive coasts the motor down and must be acknowledged before it will start. The manual specifies a hysteresis of 2K for this monitoring. Where a wire break or a sensor that is not connected is involved with KTY84/PT1000, the manual notes: The alarm is withdrawn if the response threshold for wire breakage or sensor not connected is exceeded (R > 2120 Ohm).
Why it appears
- The motor is overloaded.
- The motor ambient temperature is too high.
- With a PTC or bimetallic NC contact: wire breakage, or the sensor is not connected.
- The motor temperature model is incorrectly parameterized — the manual for the SERVO drive objects names this cause; the other families list only the three above.
What to check
- Reduce the motor load.
- Check the ambient temperature and the motor ventilation.
- Check the wiring and the temperature sensor connection — for a PTC or bimetallic NC contact, the wiring and the connection of the contact.
- Check the monitoring limits (this and the following checks are listed in the manual for the SERVO drive objects; the other families stop after the sensor check).
- Check the encoder type (p0404).
- Check the motor type (p0300, p0301).
- Check the activation of the motor temperature model (p0612).
- Check the motor temperature model parameters.
- Check the encoder (p0404).
Reading the message value
The drive writes the fault value into r0949; interpret it as a decimal number:
- 1, 2, 3, 4: number of the temperature channel leading to the message (for SME/TM120 with p0601 = 10, 11).
- 200: motor temperature model 1 (I2t): temperature too high — the entry for the VECTOR_G drive objects adds the condition p0612.0 = 1, p0611 > 0, p0615 reached.
- 300: motor temperature model 3 — after the monitoring time has expired, the temperature is still higher than the alarm threshold (SERVO drive objects).
- 301: motor temperature model 3 — the temperature is too high, or the model has not been parameterized (SERVO drive objects).
- 302: motor temperature model 3 — the encoder temperature is not within the valid range (SERVO drive objects).
- The values 300, 301 and 302 are printed only in the manual for the SERVO drive objects.
Parameters the manual names
- r0949 — read the fault value here (decimal) to see which temperature channel or model raised the fault.
- p0604 — alarm threshold of the sensor monitoring; the timer p0606 starts once it has been exceeded.
- p0605 — fault threshold; exceeding it raises the fault.
- p0606 — timer whose expiry (after the alarm threshold, or after 1650 Ohm with a PTC/NC contact) triggers the fault.
- p0610 — response the drive activates when the overtemperature is detected.
- p0601 — motor temperature sensor type; the channel-number fault values apply for SME/TM120 with p0601 = 10, 11.
- p4600 ... p4603 — motor temperature sensor type on the SME; with the settings 10, 30 the message follows the 1650 Ohm response threshold, with 12, 32 the timer after 1650 Ohm has been exceeded.
- p4610 ... p4613 — the same sensor types on the TM120 (MDS).
- p0612 — activation of the motor temperature model; check whether it is active (p0612.0 = 1 appears in the condition for fault value 200).
- p0611 — I2t motor model thermal time constant; fault value 200 occurs with p0611 > 0.
- p0615 — I2t fault threshold; fault value 200 is raised once it is reached.

Acknowledging and restarting
The drive coasts the motor down when this fault triggers and must be acknowledged before it will start. Remove the cause first — for example reduce the motor load or repair the sensor wiring — then acknowledge the fault and restart the drive.
