F06000Infeed: Precharging monitoring time expired

What it means

After the line contactor closes, the power unit of the infeed precharges the DC link and must signal READY within the monitoring time p0857. F06000 is raised when this READY signal does not arrive within that time — the end of the DC link precharging could not be completed. The drive coasts down and must be acknowledged immediately before it will start again. No fault value is supplied with this message.

Why it appears

  • 1) No line supply voltage is connected.
  • 2) The line contactor or the line-side switch has not been closed.
  • 3) The line supply voltage is too low.
  • 4) The line supply voltage is incorrectly set in p0210, so the setting does not match the actual supply.
  • 5) The precharging resistors have overheated because there were too many precharging operations per time unit.
  • 6) The precharging resistors have overheated because the DC link capacitance is too high.
  • 7) The precharging resistors have overheated because power is being taken from the DC link while the infeed unit is not signalling ready for operation (r0863.0).
  • 8) The precharging resistors have overheated because the line contactor was closed during the DC link fast discharge through the Braking Module.
  • 9) The DC link has a ground fault or a short-circuit.
  • 10) The precharging circuit is possibly defective — this applies only to chassis units.

What to check

  1. Check the line supply voltage at the connecting terminals.
  2. Check the line supply voltage setting in p0210.
  3. Check the monitoring time in p0857 and, if required, increase it.
  4. Observe any additional power unit messages and signals, for example F30027, that narrow the cause down.
  5. On booksize units, wait about 8 minutes until the precharging resistors have cooled down before a new attempt; preferably disconnect the infeed unit from the line supply while waiting.
  6. If cause 5 applies, carefully observe the permissible precharging frequency (refer to the appropriate Equipment Manual).
  7. If cause 6 applies, check the total capacitance of the DC link and reduce it to the maximum permissible DC link capacitance if necessary (refer to the appropriate Equipment Manual).
  8. If cause 7 applies, interconnect the ready-for-operation signal of the infeed unit (r0863.0) in the enable logic of the drives connected to this DC link.
  9. If cause 8 applies, check the connections of the external line contactor; the line contactor must be open during DC link fast discharge.
  10. If cause 9 applies, check the DC link for ground faults or short-circuits.

If the precharging resistors may have overheated (booksize units), let them cool for about 8 minutes with the infeed unit disconnected from the line supply before the next start attempt.
