What it means
F01010 is raised when the drive finds a drive type it does not know: the Power Module in use reports a type that the firmware cannot assign to any known drive type. The manuals describe the fault the same way for all the families listed on this page.
Why it appears
- An unknown drive type was found.
What to check
- Replace the Power Module.
- Carry out a POWER ON: switch the components off and back on again — the entries that qualify this specify it for all components.
- Upgrade the firmware to a later version.
- If the fault remains, contact Technical Support.
Reading the message value
- The fault value is held in r0949 and must be interpreted as a decimal number.
- The value is the drive object number — match it against p0101 and p0107.
- The entries for G120 and G120XA print no fault value.
Parameters the manual names
- r0949 — fault value: read it as a decimal number to obtain the drive object number reported with F01010.
- p0101 — drive object numbers (DO numbers): the list against which the value in r0949 is matched.
- p0107 — drive object type (DO type): shows which type is assigned to the drive object named by the fault value.
Acknowledging and restarting
Acknowledge the fault directly after it appears. The POWER ON (switch-off/switch-on) listed under the remedy also clears the message once the cause has been removed.
What differs between the drive families

Questions technicians ask
What does fault F01010 mean on a SINAMICS drive?
It means the drive has found a drive type it does not know — the Power Module in use reports a type that the firmware cannot assign.
How do I clear F01010?
Replace the Power Module if required, carry out a POWER ON (switch-off/switch-on) and upgrade the firmware to a later version. If the fault remains, contact Technical Support.
How can I see which drive object F01010 refers to?
