F01012Project conversion error

What it means

F01012 is raised when an error occurs while the drive converts a project that was created for an older firmware version. The fault value identifies the parameter involved in the error. Depending on the drive configuration, the same condition can also be raised without a reaction (N).

Why it appears

  • An error occurred while the drive was converting a project of an older firmware version.
  • For fault value 600, the temperature evaluation is no longer assigned to the power unit but to the encoder evaluation.

What to check

  1. Read the fault value in r0949 as a decimal number; it is the number of the parameter that caused the error during conversion.
  2. Check this parameter and set it correctly.
  3. If the fault value is 600: set p0600 to the value 1, 2 or 3 in accordance with the assignment of the internal encoder evaluation to the encoder interface — value 1 for encoder interface 1 via p0187, value 2 for encoder interface 2 via p0188, value 3 for encoder interface 3 via p0189.
  4. If necessary, assign the internal encoder evaluation to an encoder interface via p0187, p0188 or p0189.
  5. If necessary, upgrade the firmware to a later version.

Reading the message value

  • The drive stores the fault value in r0949; interpret the value as a decimal number.
  • The value is the parameter number of the parameter that caused the error.
  • Fault value 600 means that the temperature evaluation is no longer assigned to the power unit but to the encoder evaluation. Monitoring of the motor temperature is no longer ensured.

Parameters the manual names

  • r0949 — fault value; read here, as a decimal, the number of the parameter that triggered the conversion error.
  • p0600 — motor temperature sensor for monitoring; for fault value 600 it must be set to 1, 2 or 3 according to the encoder interface the internal encoder evaluation is assigned to.
  • p0187 — encoder 1 encoder data set (EDS) number; assigns the internal encoder evaluation to encoder interface 1.
  • p0188 — encoder 2 encoder data set number; assigns the internal encoder evaluation to encoder interface 2.
  • p0189 — encoder 3 encoder data set number; assigns the internal encoder evaluation to encoder interface 3.

Acknowledging and restarting

Acknowledge the fault immediately. Once the parameter named in the fault value has been checked and corrected, the drive can be started again. If the drive is configured to raise this condition without a reaction (N), no acknowledgment takes place.

Questions technicians ask

What does SINAMICS fault F01012 mean?

The drive found an error while converting a project of an older firmware version. The fault value in r0949, read as a decimal, is the number of the parameter that caused the error.

How do I fix F01012 with fault value 600?

Set p0600 to 1, 2 or 3 in accordance with the assignment of the internal encoder evaluation to the encoder interface — value 1 via p0187, value 2 via p0188, value 3 via p0189. If necessary, also assign the internal encoder evaluation via p0187, p0188 or p0189 and upgrade the firmware to a later version.

Why does F01012 say motor temperature monitoring is no longer ensured?

With fault value 600 the temperature evaluation is no longer assigned to the power unit but to the encoder evaluation, so motor temperature monitoring is no longer ensured. Setting p0600 correctly according to the encoder interface assignment resolves this case.

Which parameter caused fault F01012?

Read r0949 as a decimal number; the value it contains is the parameter number of the parameter that caused the error during the project conversion.
