A33411 — Encoder 3: Absolute encoder signals internal alarms

A33411 is output when the absolute encoder connected as Encoder 3 signals an internal alarm: alarm bits have been set in the encoder's own fault word. The drive enters the fault cause in %1 (binary) and the additional information in %2 of the message value; which condition the encoder is reporting is read from the alarm value in r2124, interpreted in binary. Depending on the drive configuration, the same condition can also be issued as a fault (F) or with no reaction (N).

• The absolute encoder's fault word includes alarm bits that have been set — the encoder connected as Encoder 3 is reporting an internal condition.

1. Read the alarm value in r2124 and interpret it in binary as yyyyxxxx hex to determine which fault cause (xxxx) and which supplementary information (yyyy) the encoder is signalling.
2. Identify the set bit(s) using the bit decoding below.
3. Replace the encoder.

• The alarm value in r2124 is interpreted in binary as yyyyxxxx hex: yyyy is the supplementary information, xxxx the fault cause.
• yyyy = 0, Bit 0: Frequency exceeded (speed too high).
• yyyy = 0, Bit 1: Temperature exceeded.
• yyyy = 0, Bit 2: Control reserve, lighting system exceeded.
• yyyy = 0, Bit 3: Battery discharged.
• yyyy = 0, Bit 4: Reference point passed.
• yyyy = 1, Bit 0: Signal amplitude outside the control range.
• yyyy = 1, Bit 1: Error multiturn interface.
• yyyy = 1, Bit 2: Internal data error (singleturn/multiturn not with single steps).
• yyyy = 1, Bit 3: Error EEPROM interface.
• yyyy = 1, Bit 4: SAR converter error.
• yyyy = 1, Bit 5: Fault for the register data transfer.
• yyyy = 1, Bit 6: Internal error identified at the error pin (nErr).
• yyyy = 1, Bit 7: Temperature threshold exceeded or fallen below.

• r2124 — alarm value: read it for this message, interpreted in binary as yyyyxxxx hex, to see which alarm bit the encoder has set.

As an alarm, A33411 does not have to be acknowledged and the drive takes no automatic action in response. When the drive is configured to issue the same condition as a fault instead, the fault is acknowledged immediately after the encoder has been replaced.
