A30016Power unit: Load supply switched off

What it means

A30016 is the power unit alarm that the load supply feeding the DC link is switched off or out: the drive has found the DC link voltage too low. Depending on how the drive is configured, the same condition can also be issued with no reaction (N) instead of as an alarm.

Why it appears

  • The DC link voltage is too low — the load supply is switched off or out.

What to check

  1. Switch on the load supply.
  2. If necessary, check the line supply — on G120 and G120XA the manual notes that under certain circumstances the AC line supply is simply not switched on.

Reading the message value

  • The drive stores the DC link voltage present at the time of the trip in r2124; interpret the number as a decimal.
  • On S120 and S150 the value is given in volts; on G120, G120XA, G130 and G150 it is given in 0.1 V.

Parameters the manual names

  • r2124 — alarm value: read it to see the DC link voltage the power unit measured at the moment the alarm was raised.

Acknowledging and restarting

The alarm requires no acknowledgement. Once the load supply is switched on again and the DC link voltage has recovered, it clears by itself; the drive does not trip on this message.

Questions technicians ask

What does SINAMICS alarm A30016 mean?

The power unit reports that the DC link voltage is too low because the load supply is switched off or out.

How do I clear alarm A30016?

Switch the load supply on and, if necessary, check the line supply — on G120 and G120XA the AC line supply may simply not be switched on. No acknowledgement is needed once the DC link voltage recovers.

Where can I see the voltage that triggered A30016?

In r2124, interpreted as a decimal number: in volts on S120 and S150, in 0.1 V on G120, G120XA, G130 and G150.

Does A30016 stop the drive?

No — the drive takes no reaction and only reports the low DC link voltage; depending on the configuration it can even be output with no reaction at all.
