A07416Drive: Flux controller configuration

What it means

A07416 (Drive: Flux controller configuration) is raised when the configuration of the flux control (p1401) is contradictory. In every case the manuals document, quick magnetizing (p1401.6) is switched on together with a function that excludes it: soft start (p1401.0), flux build-up control (p1401.2) or Rs identification after restart (p0621 = 2). The alarm value r2124 names the parameter, the index and the fault cause, so the conflicting combination can be read off directly. The message appears as an alarm without a trip reaction.

Why it appears

  • The configuration of the flux control (p1401) is contradictory: quick magnetizing (p1401.6) is active together with a function with which it cannot be combined.
  • Which function conflicts is shown by the fault cause in the alarm value: soft start (p1401.0), flux build-up control (p1401.2) or Rs identification after restart (p0621 = 2).

What to check

  1. Read the fault cause from the alarm value r2124 (interpret hexadecimal, structure ccbbaaaa hex) or from the message value of the alarm.
  2. Fault cause 1 — quick magnetizing for soft start: shut down soft start (p1401.0 = 0) and shut down quick magnetizing (p1401.6 = 0).
  3. Fault cause 2 — quick magnetizing for flux build-up control: switch-on flux build-up control (p1401.2 = 1) and shut down quick magnetizing (p1401.6 = 0). The entry for the VECTOR_G drive object prints the opposite setting instead: De-energize flux build-up control (p1401.2 = 0).
  4. Fault cause 3 — quick magnetizing for Rs identification after restart: re-parameterize Rs identification (p0621 = 0, 1) and shut down quick magnetizing (p1401.6 = 0).

Reading the message value

  • The alarm value r2124 is to be interpreted hexadecimal as ccbbaaaa hex: aaaa = Parameter, bb = Index, cc = fault cause.
  • The message value names the same three items: "Parameter: %1, index: %2, fault cause: %3".
  • cc = 01 hex = 1 dec: Quick magnetizing (p1401.6) for soft start (p1401.0).
  • cc = 02 hex = 2 dec: Quick magnetizing (p1401.6) for flux build-up control (p1401.2).
  • cc = 03 hex = 3 dec: Quick magnetizing (p1401.6) for Rs identification after restart (p0621 = 2).

Parameters the manual names

  • p1401 — flux control configuration: the parameter whose contradictory setting triggers the alarm; for this code the settings p1401.0 (soft start), p1401.2 (flux build-up control) and p1401.6 (quick magnetizing) are the ones to change.
  • r2124 — alarm value: holds the coded value ccbbaaaa hex from which the parameter, the index and the fault cause are read.
  • p0621 — identification stator resistance after restart: the alarm points to p0621 = 2 (Rs identification after restart); the remedy sets it back to 0 or 1.

Acknowledging and restarting

This alarm requires no acknowledgment. The remedy is purely a change of settings: once quick magnetizing (p1401.6) is shut down and the conflicting function is set as described above, the contradiction in the flux control configuration (p1401) is removed. The manuals describe no further reset step for this alarm.

Questions technicians ask

What does alarm A07416 mean?

The configuration of the flux control (p1401) is contradictory. Quick magnetizing (p1401.6) is switched on together with soft start (p1401.0), flux build-up control (p1401.2) or Rs identification after restart (p0621 = 2).

How do I see which combination is conflicting?

Read the alarm value r2124 and interpret it hexadecimal as ccbbaaaa: cc gives the fault cause — 1 for soft start, 2 for flux build-up control, 3 for Rs identification after restart. The message value names the parameter, the index and the fault cause as well.

Does A07416 have to be acknowledged?

No. The alarm comes without a trip reaction and requires no acknowledgment; it is resolved by correcting the settings in p1401.

What should p1401 be set to for this alarm?

Shut down quick magnetizing (p1401.6 = 0) in all three cases. Then, depending on the fault cause, set soft start to 0, set flux build-up control to 1 (the VECTOR_G entry prints 0 instead), or re-parameterize Rs identification with p0621 = 0 or 1.
