A01428Topology: Incorrect connection used

What it means

A01428 — Topology: Incorrect connection used is reported by the drive's topology comparison. For one component, another connection was used than the one assigned to it in the target topology, i.e. the actual topology (how the DRIVE-CLiQ components are actually cabled) and the target topology (the project) differ regarding this component's connection. The alarm value identifies the component and both connection numbers. The drive system is no longer booted. In this state, the drive control (closed-loop) cannot be enabled.

Why it appears

  • The topology comparison has detected differences between the actual and the target topology in relation to one component.
  • For this component, another connection was used than the one the project expects.

What to check

  1. Identify the affected component and both connection numbers from the alarm value in r2124, interpreted hexadecimal (see the alarm value decoding below); component class and connection number are described in F01375.
  2. Correct the actual topology: reinsert the DRIVE-CLiQ cable to the affected component so that it is connected as projected.
  3. Or correct the target topology: adapt the project/parameterization in the commissioning software so that it matches the actual cabling.
  4. Or remove the topology error automatically with p9904 (Topology comparison acknowledge differences).
  5. For improved diagnostics capability, e.g. a setpoint/actual value comparison, use “Topology --> Topology view” in the commissioning software.

Reading the message value

The message value reads: Component: %1, %2, connection (actual): %3, connection (target): %4. The alarm value is stored in r2124 and is to be interpreted hexadecimal in the format ddccbbaa:

  • dd — connection number of the target topology (%4)
  • cc — connection number of the actual topology (%3)
  • bb — component class (%2)
  • aa — component number (%1)

Component class and connection number are described in F01375.

Parameters the manual names

  • r2124 (Alarm value): read the alarm value of this alarm here, interpreted hexadecimal as ddccbbaa, to determine the component number, the component class and the actual and target connection numbers.
  • p9904 (Topology comparison acknowledge differences): use this parameter to remove the detected topology difference automatically, instead of reinserting the cable or changing the project.

Acknowledging and restarting

No separate acknowledgement action is required for this alarm; it goes when the difference between actual and target topology has been dealt with — by reinserting the DRIVE-CLiQ cable, by adapting the project/parameterization in the commissioning software, or by removing the topology error automatically with p9904. Closed-loop drive control can only be enabled again once this alarm has been cleared.

What differs between the drive families

Questions technicians ask

What does alarm A01428 in SINAMICS mean?

The topology comparison has found that one component is connected via another connection than the target topology expects. The alarm value in r2124 (hexadecimal ddccbbaa) identifies the component and both connection numbers.

How do I clear A01428?

Either reinsert the DRIVE-CLiQ cable so the actual topology matches the project, or adapt the project/parameterization in the commissioning software, or remove the topology error automatically with p9904.

Why can I not enable the drive while A01428 is active?

While the alarm is present, the drive system is no longer booted, and in this state the drive control (closed-loop) cannot be enabled.

Where is the alarm value of A01428 decoded?

In r2124, interpreted hexadecimal as ddccbbaa: aa is the component number, bb the component class, cc the actual and dd the target connection number. Component class and connection number are described in F01375.
