What it means
F13009 is raised when the drive uses a function that requires a license but finds no license for it. On the S120, S150, G130 and G150 the manual titles the message Licensing Technology Extension not licensed; on the G120 and G120XA the same fault appears as Licensing OA application not licensed. It is not a hardware fault: the drive performs an OFF1 (it brakes the motor to a standstill) and will not run again until the fault has been acknowledged. The manual points to r4955 and p4955 for information about the installed Technology Extensions or, on the G120 and G120XA, the installed OA applications.
Why it appears
- On the S120, S150, G130 and G150: a Technology Extension that requires a license is present in the drive without its license.
- On the G120 and G120XA: at least one OA application which is under license does not have a license.
What to check
- Read r4955 and p4955 to find out which Technology Extensions (S120, S150, G130, G150) or OA applications (G120, G120XA) are installed in the drive.
- If the function is needed, enter the license key in p9920 and activate it with p9921.
- If the Technology Extension or OA application is not needed, deactivate it with p4956.
- Acknowledge the fault and restart the drive.
Parameters the manual names
- r4955 (TEC DO-specific identifier): shows the installed Technology Extensions — or, on the G120 and G120XA, the installed OA applications — so you can identify which function the fault refers to.
- p9920 (Licensing enter license key): enter the license key for the Technology Extension or OA application the drive is missing.
- p9921 (Licensing activate license key): activate the license key entered in p9920.
- p4956 (TEC DO-specific activation): deactivate the Technology Extension or OA application that has no license, if you do not want to license it.
Acknowledging and restarting
The fault is acknowledged immediately once its cause is removed: after the license key has been entered (p9920) and activated (p9921), or after the unlicensed Technology Extension/OA application has been deactivated (p4956), acknowledge the fault and switch the drive on again.
What differs between the drive families
Straight from the manuals' own fields — F13009 is not described identically everywhere.

Questions technicians ask
What does fault F13009 mean on a SINAMICS drive?
It means a function that requires a license is being used without one: a Technology Extension on the S120, S150, G130 or G150, or an OA application on the G120 or G120XA. The drive performs an OFF1 and must be acknowledged before it can run again.
How do I fix F13009?
Read r4955 and p4955 to identify the installed Technology Extensions or OA applications, then either enter the license key with p9920 and activate it with p9921, or deactivate the unlicensed function with p4956. Then acknowledge the fault immediately.
Can I clear F13009 without a license key?
Yes — if the function is not needed, deactivate the unlicensed Technology Extension or OA application with p4956. If the function is needed, a license key must be entered and activated via p9920 and p9921.
Which parameters belong to F13009?
r4955 and p4955 show the installed Technology Extensions or OA applications, p9920 and p9921 enter and activate the license key, and p4956 deactivates a Technology Extension or OA application that has no license.
