What it means
F07494 is raised when a Drive Data Set changeover (DDS) is requested while the drive is in operation, and the changeover changes the mechanical relationships (p2503 ... 2506), the direction of rotation (p1821) or the encoder assignment (p2502). The manuals for the G130, G150, S120 and S150 describe this fault with the same cause and the same remedy; no message value is transmitted with it.
Why it appears
- A Drive Data Set changeover (DDS) was requested while the drive was in operation, and the changeover changes the mechanical relationships (p2503 ... 2506), the direction of rotation (p1821) or the encoder assignment (p2502).
What to check
- Determine whether the requested DDS changeover changes the mechanical relationships (p2503 ... 2506), the direction of rotation (p1821) or the encoder assignment (p2502) — the drive raises the fault exactly when one of these is changed during operation.
- Carry out the changeover only outside operation:
To changeover the drive data set, initially, exit the "operation" mode.
Request the DDS changeover again after the drive has left the "operation" mode.
Parameters the manual names
- p2503 (LR length unit, LU per 10 mm) — part of the mechanical relationships (p2503 ... 2506), which a DDS changeover may only change outside of operation.
- p1821 (direction) — the direction of rotation; changing it as part of a DDS changeover in operation triggers the fault.
- p2502 (LR encoder assignment) — the encoder assignment may likewise only be changed by a DDS changeover while the drive is not in operation.
Acknowledging and restarting
The fault is acknowledged immediately — the drive does not have to be powered down first. Because the drive is stopped with OFF1 when the fault trips (OFF2 or OFF3 can be configured instead), it must be started again after acknowledgment. Make sure the DDS changeover is requested only outside the "operation" mode; otherwise the fault is raised again.
The same on every family
Every manual that describes F07494 gives it the same reaction, acknowledgement and message class.
| Drive family | Reaction | Acknowledge | Message class | Component | Manual |

| S120, S150 | OFF1 (OFF2, OFF3) | IMMEDIATELY | Application/technological function faulted (17) | None | SINAMICS S120, S150 List Manual · p. 2830 |

Questions technicians ask
What does fault F07494 mean on a SINAMICS drive?
A Drive Data Set (DDS) changeover was requested while the drive was in operation, and the changeover changes the mechanical relationships (p2503 ... 2506), the direction of rotation (p1821) or the encoder assignment (p2502).
How do I fix fault F07494?
Exit the "operation" mode first and only then carry out the drive data set changeover. The fault itself can be acknowledged immediately once the cause is removed.
Which parameters are involved in F07494?
The mechanical relationships p2503 ... 2506 (p2503 is the LR length unit, LU per 10 mm), the direction of rotation p1821 and the LR encoder assignment p2502.
Does F07494 also occur on G130 and G150, or only on S120 and S150?
It occurs on all four — the manuals for G130, G150, S120 and S150 describe the same fault with the same cause and the same remedy.
