F07491EPOS: STOP cam minus reached

What it means

F07491 is a fault of the EPOS positioning function: the drive detected a 0 signal at binector input p2569, i.e. the STOP cam minus was actuated. If the minus cam is reported reached while the axis traverses in the positive direction, the drive concludes that the wiring of the STOP cam is incorrect. The drive stops the axis with an OFF3 stop, and the fault must be acknowledged before the axis can traverse again. Depending on the drive configuration, the same condition can also be issued as an alarm — as an alarm it triggers no action and does not need to be acknowledged.

Why it appears

  • A 0 signal was detected at binector input p2569, i.e. the STOP cam minus was reached (actuated).
  • For a positive traversing direction, the STOP cam minus was reached — i.e. the wiring of the STOP cam is incorrect.

What to check

  1. Leave the STOP cam minus in the positive traversing direction and return the axis to the valid traversing range.
  2. Check the wiring of the STOP cam.

Parameters the manual names

  • p2569 (BI: EPOS STOP cam minus / STOP cam minus) — the binector input through which the drive reads the STOP cam minus signal; a 0 signal at this input raises F07491.

Acknowledging and restarting

Acknowledge the fault immediately once the axis is back in the valid traversing range and the STOP cam wiring has been checked. If the drive is configured to issue the same condition as an alarm instead, no acknowledgement is required.

Questions technicians ask

What does fault F07491 mean on a SINAMICS drive?

It reports that the EPOS STOP cam minus was reached: the drive detected a 0 signal at binector input p2569 and stops the axis with an OFF3 stop.

Why does F07491 appear when traversing in the positive direction?

Reaching the STOP cam minus during positive traversing indicates that the wiring of the STOP cam is incorrect, and the drive treats that combination as a fault.

How do I clear fault F07491?

Leave the STOP cam minus in the positive traversing direction so the axis returns to the valid traversing range, check the wiring of the STOP cam, then acknowledge the fault.

Can F07491 also appear as an alarm?

Yes — depending on the drive configuration, the same condition can also be issued as an alarm; as an alarm it triggers no action and does not need to be acknowledged.
