F07300Drive: Line contactor feedback signal missing

What it means

F07300 reports that the drive no longer sees the line contactor in the state it commanded. The drive watches a feedback signal that reports the contactor's actual position and expects it to confirm the command within the monitoring time in p0861; when that does not happen — or when the contactor moves on its own — the fault is raised. Depending on how the drive is configured, the same condition can also be issued as an alarm (A), in which case it causes no trip and needs no acknowledgement.

Why it appears

  • The line contactor did not close within the monitoring time in p0861 after the drive commanded it.
  • The line contactor did not open within the monitoring time in p0861 after the drive commanded it.
  • The line contactor dropped out while the drive was in operation.
  • The line contactor closed although the drive converter is switched off.

What to check

  1. Check the setting of p0860, the signal the drive evaluates as the line contactor feedback.
  2. Check the feedback circuit from the line contactor.
  3. If the contactor needs longer than the monitoring allows, increase the monitoring time in p0861.
  4. For G150LE (power expansion)/G150HP (High Power) only: If, contrary to the appropriate specifications, the circuit breakers are monitored using the line contactor control of drive object B_INF then, for B_INF, parameter p0869.1 must be set = 0.

Parameters the manual names

  • p0860 (BI: Line contactor feedback signal) — the signal source the drive accepts as proof of the contactor's actual position; check this setting first when the feedback signal goes missing.
  • p0861 (Line contactor monitoring time) — the window within which the feedback must confirm the commanded state; extend it here if a genuine contactor simply needs longer.
  • p0869 (Sequence control configuration) — only relevant on G150LE (power expansion)/G150HP (High Power) when circuit breakers are monitored via the line contactor control of B_INF: p0869.1 must be set = 0.

Acknowledging and restarting

The drive trips with OFF2: the pulses are cancelled and the motor coasts down, and the drive will not start again until the fault is acknowledged. Put the contactor, its feedback circuit and the parameters back into a correct state first, then acknowledge the fault and switch the drive on again.

What differs between the drive families

Straight from the manuals' own fields — F07300 is not described identically everywhere.

Questions technicians ask

What does SINAMICS fault F07300 mean?

The drive did not receive the line contactor feedback signal in the state it commanded: the contactor failed to close or open within the time in p0861, dropped out during operation, or closed although the converter was switched off.

How do I clear fault F07300?

Check the setting of p0860, check the feedback circuit from the line contactor and, if the contactor simply needs longer, increase the monitoring time in p0861. Then acknowledge the fault and restart the drive.

Can F07300 also appear as a warning?

Yes — the manuals also list this condition as an alarm (A). As an alarm it causes no trip and requires no acknowledgement.

Why does my G150 report F07300 although circuit breakers, not a line contactor, are monitored?

On G150LE (power expansion)/G150HP (High Power), monitoring the circuit breakers via the line contactor control of drive object B_INF deviates from the appropriate specifications; for B_INF, parameter p0869.1 must then be set = 0.
