F07098Drive: One Button Tuning configuration error

What it means

F07098 tells you that the One Button Tuning configuration requested in p5301 is not supported. The code is described for SINAMICS S120 and S150 and is reported on the SERVO, SERVO_AC and SERVO_I_AC drive objects. Depending on the drive's configuration, the same condition can also be signalled as an alarm instead of a fault.

Why it appears

  • The One Button Tuning configuration requested in p5301 is not supported by the drive.
  • Bit 5 of the fault value r0949 is set: the requested function requires that the "Advanced Positioning Control" function module (APC) is activated.

What to check

  1. Read the fault value in r0949 as a binary number and check whether bit 5 is set.
  2. For bit 5 = 1: activate the "APC" function module (r0108.7 = 1).
  3. Activate the "APC without sensor on the load side" function (p3700.2 = 1).

Reading the message value

The drive enters the fault cause in r0949 as a binary value ("Fault cause: %1 bin"). One bit is decoded for this code:

  • Bit 5: The function requires that the "Advanced Positioning Control" function module (APC) is activated.

Parameters the manual names

  • p5301 (One Button Tuning configuration / OBT config): holds the requested OBT configuration whose support the drive checks; an unsupported value triggers this fault.
  • r0949 (Fault value): read it as a binary number here — bit 5 shows that the APC function module must be activated.
  • p3700 (AVS/APC configuration / APC config): set bit 2 to 1 to activate the "APC without sensor on the load side" function.
  • r0108 (Drive objects function module / DO fct_mod): bit 7 = 1 shows that the "APC" function module is activated in the drive object.

Acknowledging and restarting

Once the APC function module is activated and p3700.2 is set, acknowledge the fault immediately; the drive can then be restarted. If the same condition is only signalled as an alarm, no reaction takes place and no acknowledgement is required.

The same on every family

Every manual that describes F07098 gives it the same reaction, acknowledgement and message class.

Questions technicians ask

What does fault F07098 mean in SINAMICS?

The drive reports that the One Button Tuning configuration requested in p5301 is not supported. Bit 5 in the fault value r0949 additionally shows that the function requires the activated "Advanced Positioning Control" (APC) function module.

How do I fix F07098 on an S120 or S150?

For bit 5 = 1 in r0949, activate the "APC" function module (r0108.7 = 1) and set p3700.2 = 1 to activate the "APC without sensor on the load side" function. Then acknowledge the fault immediately.

Can F07098 also appear as an alarm?

Yes. Depending on the drive's configuration, the same condition can be signalled as an alarm; in that case there is no reaction and no acknowledgement is required.
