F01656 — SI CU: Parameter monitoring channel 2 error

F01656 is raised when the drive meets an error while accessing the Safety Integrated (SI) parameters of monitoring channel 2 in the non-volatile memory. The G120 manual titles the same code “SI P1 (CU): Parameter processor 2 error” and locates the parameters on processor 2. The drive goes into a STOP A that can be acknowledged, and a numeric fault value identifies which internal problem occurred.

• The Safety Integrated parameters for monitoring channel 2 (on G120: for processor 2) cannot be accessed in the non-volatile memory without an error.
• Where exactly the access fails is visible in the fault value: corrupted safety parameters, an internal software error, a communication problem during parameter transfer, or an internal software error in the Control Unit — the decoding is listed under “Fault value”.

1. Re-commission the safety functions.
2. On S120, S150, G130 and G150 also upgrade the Control Unit software and the Motor Module/Hydraulic Module software; the G120 entry does not list these two steps.
3. Replace the memory card or the Control Unit.

For fault value 129 the manual prescribes a fixed safety sequence: enter the safety commissioning mode (p0010 = 95), adapt the PROFIsafe address (p9610), start the copy function for the SI parameters (p9700 = D0 hex), acknowledge the data change (p9701 = DC hex), leave the mode again (p0010 = 0), then save — p0977 = 1 or “copy RAM to ROM” (on G120: p0971 = 1) — and finally switch the power off and on for all components; on G120 this POWER ON covers the Control Unit.
5. For fault value 132, check the electrical cabinet design and the cable routing for EMC compliance.

The message value points to r0949; read the value there and interpret it in decimal:

• 129 — the safety parameters for monitoring channel 2 are corrupted. The S120/S150 and G130/G150 manuals add that a drive with enabled safety functions was possibly copied offline using the commissioning tool (commissioning software) and the project then downloaded; the G120 entry names only the corrupted parameters of processor 2.
• 131 — internal software error of the Motor Module/Hydraulic Module (on G120: internal software error).
• 132 — communication errors while uploading or downloading the safety parameters for monitoring channel 2.
• 255 — internal software error on the Control Unit.

• r0949 — holds the fault value of this code; read it in decimal to select the matching remedy step.
• p0010 — set to 95 to activate the safety commissioning mode for fault value 129, back to 0 to exit it.
• p9610 — the PROFIsafe address of the Control Unit, adapted within the value-129 sequence.
• p9700 — set to D0 hex to start the copy function for the SI parameters (value 129).

The fault triggers a STOP A that can be acknowledged. The drive expects a POWER ON for the acknowledgement: switch the supply off and on again. In the remedy for fault value 129 this switch-off/switch-on is the closing step and is carried out for all components, while the G120 manual limits it to the Control Unit.
