F01357Topology: Two Control Units identified on the DRIVE-CLiQ line

What it means

F01357 is raised when the drive identifies 2 Control Units connected with one another through DRIVE-CLiQ in the actual topology. As standard, this is not permitted; the connection is only allowed if the Technology Extension OALINK has already been installed on both Control Units — on S120 and S150 the manual additionally requires that OALINK has been commissioned online. While the fault is present, the drive withdraws and prevents pulse enable.

Why it appears

  • In the actual topology, 2 Control Units are connected with one another through DRIVE-CLiQ; as standard, this is not permitted.
  • The connection is only permitted if the Technology Extension OALINK has already been installed on both Control Units (on S120 and S150, additionally commissioned online).

What to check

  1. If the two Control Units should not be connected at all: remove the connection to the second Control Unit and restart.
  2. Where the connection runs over the S120M component DRIVE-CLiQ extension, interchange the hybrid cable (IN/OUT).
  3. If the second Control Unit is to remain connected: remove the DRIVE-CLiQ connection, restart the systems, then install OALINK on both Control Units and activate (commission) it.
  4. Check the configuration of the DRIVE-CLiQ sockets in OALINK.

Reading the message value

  • The drive stores the fault value in r0949; interpret it hexadecimal, as yyxx hex.
  • yy = connection number of the Control Unit at which the second Control Unit is connected.
  • xx = component number of the Control Unit at which the second Control Unit is connected.
  • The message value carries the same two pieces of information as placeholders: component number (%1) and connection number (%2).

Parameters the manual names

  • r0949 — fault value: read it here, interpreted hexadecimal, to identify the Control Unit (component number xx) and the connection (yy) at which the second Control Unit is connected.

Acknowledging and restarting

The manual describes no special reset sequence: once the second Control Unit has been disconnected (or OALINK has been installed and activated on both Control Units), restart the systems and acknowledge the fault in the usual way. Note that the drive withdraws and prevents pulse enable for as long as the fault is present.

The same on every family

Every manual that describes F01357 gives it the same reaction, acknowledgement and message class.

Questions technicians ask

What does fault F01357 mean on a SINAMICS drive?

The drive has identified 2 Control Units connected with one another through DRIVE-CLiQ in the actual topology. As standard this is not permitted and is only allowed when the Technology Extension OALINK is installed on both Control Units.

How do I clear F01357?

Remove the connection to the second Control Unit and restart, or — if the connection is intended — remove the DRIVE-CLiQ connection, restart the systems, install OALINK on both Control Units, activate (commission) it and check the DRIVE-CLiQ socket configuration in OALINK. Over the S120M DRIVE-CLiQ extension, interchange the hybrid cable (IN/OUT).

Can two Control Units be connected via DRIVE-CLiQ at all?

Yes, but only if the Technology Extension OALINK has already been installed on both Control Units (on S120 and S150, also commissioned online). Otherwise the drive raises F01357 and prevents pulse enable.

What does the F01357 fault value tell me?

Read r0949 and interpret it hexadecimal: xx is the component number and yy the connection number of the Control Unit at which the second Control Unit is connected.
